Sylvester. Warroad has been a hot topic today. he put up decent numbers as a freshman and totally carried the weak warroad team last year. Look for him to have a stack of offers by the end of the year.

Is Kuhlman from cloquet at usndp now? what about yon and strand from roseau, quite the hockey pedigree there.

Walsh from Edina has been lobbying hard. To hear it from his "supporters," he's an overlooked gem.

Could be. But I do wonder why no commit yet if he's really D1 caliber. UND supposedly interested.

Hockey Prospects lists these as yet-to-commits.
Connor Hurley, Edina; Zach Glienke, Eagan; Shane Gersich, Holy Family; Jack Dougherty, St. Thomas; Jake Zeleznikar, Hermantown; Neal Pionk, Hermantown; Avery Peterson, Grand Rapids; TJ Moore, Benilde; Mason Bergh, Eden Prairie; Tyler Sheehy, Burnsville
A better question might be who should be on his list that isn't. ... Like Walsh, or maybe Olmschenk. Those kinds of players??? (Not saying either of those guys should be. I have my doubts, having seen both of them play recently, but I'm no scout -- who knows how they could progress after HS???)

FakeHockeyHub calls "Moose" overrated. Kid has been scoring those clutch goals lately, though, no doubt about it.

Totally agree about TJ Roo. If for some bizarre reason T-G gets past STA this year, he might get the scouting attention he deserves.

Mork and Bianchi from Holy Angels both deserve a look too.

Many of these excellent players who don't get as much press will have to go to juniors before D1 will take a look at them.

FakeHub

Post by blueblood » Wed Dec 12, 2012 3:50 pm

The FakeHub is a joke. Tonka has produced many D-1 players and a few NHL'ers.

How could you call someone overrated who is the all-time leading scorer for a school thats been playing high schook hockey for over 50+ years...

Top Junior F's w/ Status

Post by Wallyworld » Wed Dec 12, 2012 3:58 pm

As far as forwards, I know the Junior class fairly well and it has been interesting to watch the commitments unfold. I watched these guys at the Final 54's in the Spring and all through the Elite League this fall..

Generally the forward rankings (commited & uncommitted) are as follows (no particular order after top 4). The 'U' stands for Uncommited... '**' after name means they made the Elite League All Star Team (MN Red or White.) Only 8 Junior F's made the 2 All Star Teams so that is a pretty good indicator..IMO.. Hurley only played a handfull of Elite League games and Nanne, none at all... I also listed a dozen uncommited senior F's though I do not know that class quite as well..

Top Junior F's w/ Status

Conner Hurley (Edina) - Notre Dame
Karson Kuhlman** (cloquet) - UMD
Tyler Sheehy** (Burnsville) - U (leaning towards WI)
Steven Spinner** (Eden Prairie) - UNO
Jack Ramsey (Minnetonka) -- U of Minn
Tyler Cline (Blaine) - U
Avery Peterson** (Grand Rapids) - U
Spencer Naas** (BSM) - U
Willie Brown** (Hill Murray) - U
Zach Yon** (Roseau) - Uncommited
Austin Poganski** (St Cloud Cath.) U
Tyler Nanne (Edina) U
tie - Westin Michaud (Cloquet) U

-- anybody disagree with anyone on the top 12 list??? Who else should be on it??

As for uncommited Seniors - The main uncommited kids I have been following are

Bo Brauer - Edina
TJ Moore - BSM
Mason Bergh - Eden Prairie
Thomas Lindstrom - Breck
Zach Lavalle - Hill Murray
Max Coata - Minnetonka (I think he's still a non-commit)
TJ Roo -- Totino
Tommy Hajiceck - EGF
Matt Seratore - Bemidji
Jason Samualson - Roch Lourdes
Mario Bianchi -- Holy Angels
Zach Glienke - Eagan

I'm not sure Walsh has D1 potential. Don't get me wrong he is a good player, but he hasn't stood out when I've watched him. He uses his body well, but it is quite possible he has just been overshadowed with the high quality players Edina has every year. He did however do pretty well at the Fargo camp. TJ Roo is a player that has potential, but he benefits from being old for his grade. He'll be 19 in March or April I believe, but he has decent size and when I've watched him he possesses a pretty good shot. I agree that if TG can get over the STA hump this year it could be just the recognition he needs.

Unless a kid has offers on the table and has taken visits the chances of him committing in the near future is very slim. So just tossing out the names of your favorite player or the kid you think is good is means nothing unless you know he has offers. So does anyone know of any players with confirmed offers from schools?

I think Nanne might have to prove himself, and then he will be in top 12

Totally agree Starmvp I think he is a terrific player who certainly will play D1 - looks like from above poster he may just be weighing options.

Andy Jordahl #10 for edina. everyone thought he was overrated last year because he got the benefit to play with Hurley and Malmquist but he is now been moved back to the 2nd line and has 7 goals already. only behind Hurley with 8 on the team

Poganski reportedly has offers from the Gophers and SCSU
