Looking for Host Families

Post by SR2 » Mon Jan 14, 2013 2:32 pm

Host Families NEEDED to host LATVIA young hockey players January 16-22.

Teams from the far reaches of the Hockey World are planning to attend our 1st OneHockey Gone Wild Youth International Hockey Tournament. 4 Bauer Selects teams from Latvia are attending the event and OneHockey is currently looking for locals to host their players from January 16th till the 22nd.

EVENT INFORMATION

Our OneHockey "GOLD WILD" Youth International Hockey Tournament games will all be held at the Schwan Super Rinks in Blaine MN, this world class facility has eight ice rinks and is the perfect venue for such a world class youth hockey event. The first puck will be dropped on opening day January 18, 2013 and the championship games will be played on Martin Luther King Day, January 21.

OneHockey is a 5 star hockey tournament and we pride ourselves on being very well organized. We have a very unique format unlike any other youth hockey tournament, with up-tempo music during all games and throughout the rink, with t-shirts tossed to fans, chuck a puck half and half and mascots to entertain. We have thought of everything that will insure that our tournaments are fun for all.

HOSTING FAMILIES DUTIES

The OneHockey GONE WILD Minnesota Tournament needs billeting families to lodge players who will participate in the next edition of the tournament.

The players are lodged in groups of two (2). During the day the players are with their team either to play hockey games or participate in other activities. The player's equipment will have to be taken to the host families homes daily.

The players come from Latvia. Here's a wonderful opportunity for you and your family to form lasting friendships and familiarize yourselves with another language.

To be a host family, we ask that you:

• Be available to pick up the players at the Minneapolis airport on January 16th and return them on the 22nd. As of right now, we only have flight information on some of the players. It appears that they will all be arriving mostly in the evening on the 16th and will need to be taken to the airport on the morning of the 22nd. They can be met in the baggage claim area and if your family could make a sign with the players name on it, it would be much appreciated.

• Serve them breakfast daily – Lunch and dinners may be served if the players are actually at home during those times.

• Assure their transportation morning and night (according to your work schedule).

• Provide them a bedroom (double-size beds are accepted)

• Offer them a warm welcome.

To thank you for your generosity, the Tournament gives you a team photo of the players you host.

The lodging offered these young people will enable them to have marvelous and unforgettable memories of our Minnesota families and of this prestigious tournament.

Again, if you are interested in hosting, please email Susan sschmidt@superrink.org.
