Yes, her high school career has now ended, but don't feel too sorry for her: she will move on to get an Ivy League education and diploma from Brown University. I wish her the best of luck, and hope she reaches her potential as a hockey player at the next level.Sparlimb wrote:How about Mounds View returning the favor and upsetting Irondale and ending Sam Donovan's career.

I have been watching her play for a long time as she is the same age as my daughter. She is an amazing player and I wish her all the best in the years to come (and I am from the North )!!!MNHockeyFan wrote:Yes, her high school career has now ended, but don't feel too sorry for her: she will move on to get an Ivy League education and diploma from Brown University. I know they refigure the sections every two years and even out the number of teams in each section. The sections are 100% by geography.MinnGirlsHockey wrote:Geography. And travel/logistical considerations.Cobber wrote:Looking at the teams in each section does anyone know why some sections have 9 teams and some have 7.
But in between that two year window I believe new move ups, move downs, folded programs and cooperatives can make the numbers uneven.

Here is your updated Leaderboard through Tuesday February 11th. The story so far is mnhockey3535, who has built an impressive 6 point lead on the rest of the field. Not only has mnhockey3535 predicted the winners of every section semifinal game so far (14 for 14!) he has also tacked on 3 correct scores in those 14 semi's for an additional 6 bonus points. But, with all of the section finals still to be played - with 5 points for each one on the line - maybe it's not quite over yet

That is what I thought but I thought it was strange that Buffalo was taken out of a section that has only 7 teams now and put into section 8AA that now has 9 teams.Bulldog3489 wrote:I know they refigure the sections every two years and even out the number of teams in each section. There are some really good section Final games coming up. Add in the Section 6 semis and final game and ...MNHockeyFan wrote:Recap of Class AA results, all of which have now been confirmed as final on the Hub:

From what I understand SLP was moved from A to AA and that was why they moved Buffalo, then SLP successfully petitioned to stay at A but the season had allready started, I would expect some reshuffling next year. Would be a great time for them to look at a better way to get more parity in to the sections anualy.Cobber wrote:That is what I thought but I thought it was strange that Buffalo was taken out of a section that has only 7 teams now and put into section 8AA that now has 9 teams.Bulldog3489 wrote:I know they refigure the sections every two years and even out the number of teams in each section. I believe Roseau was mistakenly placed in section 8A initially which led to Buffalo's placement in 8AA. Roseau & MSHSL corrected mistake placing them back in 8AA leaving 8AA with 9 teams...Cobber wrote:That is what I thought but I thought it was strange that Buffalo was taken out of a section that has only 7 teams now and put into section 8AA that now has 9 teams.Bulldog3489 wrote:I know they refigure the sections every two years and even out the number of teams in each section. On the broadcast the announcer mentioned that Wayzata beat Hopkins in the first game, but did not say the score.MNHockeyFan wrote:FYI the Tonka/BSM game (audio only) is being carried at:

After one in the second game it's 0-0.
MSBN had both games tonight as well.MNHockeyFan wrote:FYI the Tonka/BSM game (audio only) is being carried at:

Plus Eastview v Burnsville which is 4-3 EastView in the 2nd period. A lot of goals there.
BSM and Tonka tied 0-0 after 1.

BSM still leads 1-0, now after two periods.
The Hub shows the score in the earlier game as:
Wayzata 2, Hopkins 1
Goals by Paige Sorensen and Meg Ransom, both in the 1st period. The Royals' only goal was scored by Kylie Hanley, in the second period. Wayzata had a commanding 38-20 edge in shots on goal.
