2014 Women's Under-18 World Championships

Post by MNHockeyFan »

Congrats to our Minnesota girls on helping the USA defeat Russia in their opening game of the World Championships now being held in Budapest, Hungary. Gopher recruits Nina Rodgers (Hopkins) and Taylor Williamson (Edina) each had goals, and Erin O'Neil (Hopkins) made 16 saves in a 6-1 win. Defensemen Grace Bizal (Hopkins), Patricia Marshall (SSM-Thief River Falls) and Sydney Baldwin (Minnetonka) are also on the team, with Baldwin serving as an alternate captain for the U.S. squad.

The U.S. plays their second team or the tournament against host Hungary this afternoon.
