Only one side of stands, but STA for sure.

All good! But I'm putting Richfield at the top.

I like Aldrich for sentimental reasons. I have watched hundreds of games there. St. Thomas Academy is a very nice new arena, as is St. Croix in Stillwater even though the sight lines ares kinda funky.

this has nothing to do with our rivalry with them, but i hate sta's arena. aldrich is so much better. why would you build an arena with only one side of stands? although they do have that nice room for the parents of the sta players. but so does nsp.

Rivalry...HM has always been better than STA at hockey. This year they are playing at HM's level, as they showed early on, but in no way has there ever been a rivalry. I suppose as a player it might be different, but the whole of the arena itself for the fans is great.

Rapids fans are pretty spoiled with their nice home pond. Hibbing is another arena I like, not as nice as the IRA, but Hibbing has a uniqueness about it.

Don't forget about Chisholm's rink. It's 900 degrees in there and the ends of the rinks are half circles.

DECC/Cloquet/Rapids/Hibbing

These are four very unique arenas. The DECC and The Hibbing Memorial Center are great arenas that have had some great games over the years. The atmosphere is great at these arenas come playoff time. As for Cloquet and Rapids they are just great arenas.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... >dangle at: 1/1/06 12:29 am

Never been to Cloquet's rink, but our Pee Wee team's going there for a tourney in a couple weeks. The tourney schedule shows them using two rinks, which one's the good one?

The DECC? That place is a piece of crap. Old, dirty, crappy ice...doesn't get much better then that i guess.
Play another sport if ya dont got what it takes to DangleMcFangle.

If the DECC is old an dirty, well, what is a clean rink? I think part of what makes the DECC fun is it's location. Right next to Lake Superior in Canal Park. Can't wait to hang out there in February.

Richfield is a clean rink. Last summer we had the entire facility pressure washed and then repainted. The new lights will be put in starting next week and the facility will be one of the better ones. The ice is in tip top condition right now.
________________________________
Academy of Holy Angels
2005 GIRLS STATE CHAMPS!
2002 & 2005 BOYS STATE CHAMPS!!
GO STARS!!
