Reflections on EGF

Post by zambonidriver » Mon Mar 16, 2015 7:55 am

1. Thank you EGF for a great job. I am proud to be from there!
2. Roseau great team fantastic coaching and sportsmanship.
3. Minnetonka great effort. Well coached.
4. Forest Lake Congrats on a great season. Well deserved State Champions
5. Brainerd great tournament.
6. Rochester Most improved.
7. St. Paul. Just not enough depth earned tons of respect.
8. Andover I heard some things hope they were not true.
9. Edina, Your coaches not only embarrassed themselves but your city. It should be expected though. Maybe if they show up to the coaches meeting on time they would have figured out that behavior would not be tolerated.
Overall a great weekend. To all good luck this summer and next year

Many thanks to the EGF Blueline Club. What a classy organization - great volunteers, fantastic facility, and a superbly organized event.

Congrats to the Forest Lake Rangers. Well-earned title and a great representative of the 2014-15 12UA class.

Our girls had a great time in EGF as always. Here is what I will take away from the weekend.

4th place is not all that bad ;)
Anyone of the top 6 teams could beat each other any given day
Have NEVER had a Ref tell a head coach, and I quote:
"Dont even ask me to come over and explain anything to you. I will not talk to you unless I feel it is needed. It is my call and thats final"

With the call against the Edina coach, anyone that was at that game would have to agree that there is NO WAY the ref could have called that goal in before the net came off. It was a very tight call and as a head coach I would have been a little over the edge as well. The nice thing about the tourney is we can all go back and watch the games and see what everyone id talking about. There were a lot of bad calls in this tourney for all the teams. Just how it goes. Some take it better then others.......
