The thing with OS teams as you never know who will be there due to other sport conflicts so I am basing it on top rosters being available for both.
I know at least 2 (I think it is 3-5 or more) of the girls on the 01 team that played (or were eligible to play by either playing or making and then deciding to play HS) Peewee or U12 last winter. I think 1 was crimson PW, 1 was tornado PW, 1 was huskie PW, one made Spartan PW and might have played HS, and another was capital U12.

At least 1 of those girls is in 7th grade.

Mavs has it correct across the board, with rosters, philosophy, ideas and the future for O/S.

There are three 5th graders playing on the 02/03 team, but the rest are 6th graders. They could play 03/04 but Winny wants them playing with the older group.

Yep, for sure the OMG kid and WBL kid were age eligible to stay back but still 8th graders. Not sure about the others but I'm sure you are correct. They do have a couple of 7th graders too.

Why have so many jumped ship from the Blades? Did something happen?

At least 1 of those girls is in 7th grade.[I think I can answer that one. The blades are a true tournament team and have stayed that way their philosophy is a great one so is there approach but you just don't get the bang for your buck. Their fee has been raised to the point of unless they offer more training it is going to be hard to keep kids. Again for me the best spring /summer opportunity is Os because of what it offers for the price. For roughly 1300 dollars you get spring league the tournaments and 8 weeks of training in the summer. The other problem is that the blades are not very competitive after their 01 team. Their 7th grade group is tier 2 at best.]

Most of the players on this list:

http://www.youthhockeyhub.com/news_arti ... id=1280009

play on the 02 Machine, the 01 and 01/02 O/S Selects, STE and the Ice Cougars.

I am familiar with a lot of those names on this list, I just don't get to see many of them very often so just curious is there was a 4-5 from each of those teams that stood out or not.

Understood. If I had to pick a few I've seen - Nicholson, Jungels, Langseth and Bourgerie stand out on the Machine, Bothun (G), Zeigler and Einan stand out for the O/S team. Doll and Mobley on the 01 Icemen are very good too.

Thanks

I realize that if I ask this 12 months from now, the names may change but its fun to see what others see/think. I know a lot of those names and were all good when I saw them last but it might have been a year ago when I last saw them.

I believe these are all 7th. How about 8th? Wethington is a stud, McMannon, goalie from 01 OS team is rock solid I am told. The 7th graders on the 01 OS team have to be studs.

Bowlby's Machine team must be loaded?

I have seen Wethington play HS games and also at Os...she is big (5'10" according to HP brochure), strong, and very skilled. Will she be the next Rachel Ramsey, Sydney Baldwin, or as good as Jincy Dunne?!? Cant imagine any D1 program that would not want to lock her up ASAP. Class of 2019!

Does Bowlby still have a team (what was the 00 Machine Orange)? Or did they merge into Os?

It is my understanding that is parts of the 01 Machine(s) from last year, mostly orange and some black. Also a handful of new players from ?.

They along with the 01 Ice Cougars (and the Northern Storm) are playing this weekend in Vadnais Heights:

Another tournament this weekend is the Mtn Dew Blast at Super Rink/Fogarty (who knows what Os Selects team that is at U12 level? Also I see an Os Selects team at u14 along with Miracle Gold and also something called Jr Wild?) Here is a link:

Maybe there will be more interesting commentary after this weekend...

A Few Takeaways from the Meltdown - Girls Side

Post by tarasov » Thu Apr 30, 2015 1:42 pm

2000 Machine is still playing together! We will be playing in Clash at U19level. We have added 3 98's and a 99 to our roster for this tourney. It's a great group of athletes and very fun to coach. The U19 level will be a challenge for them, but I think they will hold their own.

There have been so many in and out of that team over the last five years, almost all really excellent players. How many/who have/has been there all along? They have played up every time I've ever seen them (I think every Machine team has played up every time I've seen them.)

I put out a Clash thread on the AAA board. Who ya got next weekend? (10, 12, 14, 16, 19 Tier 1, 19 Tier 2)

Good for them! Its good to be pushed. I'm sure they have plenty of talent and just playing with some older girls. Great challenge and I'm sure they will do just fine and help their development.
