May be a bit early but given its just around the corner now.....what teams do people expect to see in the Top5/Top 10 in Bantams this year?

I was referring to A and AA but any level works.

In Bantam AA I could see White Bear Lake, Blaine and Edina from the metro being top 5 teams along with Rosemount (lost a few kids), OMG and Andover. Minneapolis was probably the best PeeWee AA team in this group two years ago but lost some kids to Blake. Prior Lake also made the late run to the state title so they'll be good as well.

Up north Cloquet and Moorhead will be very good as will Hermantown. Grand Rapids will be young but very talented with their first year group as will be Duluth East, depending on what 9th graders move up to high school.

Yea, the CEC bantam AA's should pick up where they left off last year. Alot of quality skaters and defensemen. both goalies returning from the bantam AA team last year as well.

Was the SF/NB club real strong in PeeWees two years ago? Are they new to the AA level?

District 16
AA
Roseau and Bemidji average, unless they have something I have not seen in the last two years.
Roseau may have a shot at an upset but otherwise I would give North AA to Moorhead or Brainerd in D15. Grand Rapids. Cloquet, Hermantown or Duluth East.
Not sure of the D11 teams as they are a ways away.
Early prediction for north AA would be Moorhead and Grand Rapids.

A East Grand Forks and Thief River Falls from D16

B East Grand Forks or Thief River Falls, Red Lake Falls and Roseau.

Just to clarify:

District 11: East, Cloquet, Hermantown
District 12: Rapids
District 15: Brainerd, Moorhead
District 16: Bemidji, Roseau

Bo,

Your first post said they are top 10, second post said compete with 15-30? Was the change due to kid going to hockey school or what team looks like after tryouts? Just trying to gauge level of team and why the change.

Good for them as merged associations deciding to play AA!

How does Minnetonka not have a BAA team this year, are numbers that low or I suppose it could be the talent

They do have one. They have 6 bantam teams in total.

They're defending state champs at Bantam AA. This season they have 7 bantam teams: AA, A, B1, B2, B2, C, C

YHH Bantam AA Top 10

Post by Section 8 guy » Wed Oct 26, 2016 1:35 am

YHHs initial Bantam AA top 10 (11?) for the year.

Some interesting selections given results from PeeWee AAs two years ago. We'll see how things play out as the season develops.

Hopefully not as many as on the girls side. There are hundreds (I've counted over 200) of middle school girls playing high school hockey. It's not a good trend.

What Bantam teams will be most impacted this week?
