Meyers is a very skilled hockey player.

Ward has the not gonna beat me attitude (as well as being good).

3rd period should be good. Delano has no expectation of playing over in Dinkytown.

Did someone say morning QF's in single A were not good?

Delano doesn't know how to play defense, especially in their own zone.

Play seems to be evening out after tilting delano's way for a while. MAML needed to bury that shorty chance..

Well, this has certainly been an eventful start to the tournament, no matter how this game turns out.

Not in section 7 so he doesn't care.

And they shake hands with the goalie still down.

What a win for MAML. Goalie was the star of the game.

Wow. Tough way to go out for Delano. Waited a lot of years for this only to be one and done.

That was a nice game to watch. Great way to start the tourny. If that is a foreshadowing of what's to come it will be a fun weekend.

Wow! Fun game to watch...though I'm pretty sure my chance of winning the tourney contest went to 0% after one game. Congrats to the Moose!

LOL, apparently you missed his sarcasm. Nobody is open enrolling to Monticello for hockey.

Well, that isn't quite true. I can think of several that are currently there that open enrolled...

I would love to see MAML go the championship game and beat Hermantown, then hear someone from Hermantown complain that MAML should be AA!!!!

Any suggestions on where to go to get in depth analysis of what happened in this game?? I saw MAML play my hometown team---Sartell--- twice this year and neither game was close (5 and 6 goal wins for Sartell)... From what I saw, I didn't expect them to stay with 4 goals of Delano in this game. Was it just a hot goaltender for MAML or was Delano just outplayed?

This analysis isn't "in depth" enough for you?

Very impressive showing by MAML. That top line has some real skill, and if they hold up through a lot of shifts, I like their chances against Northfield on Friday. Delano, on the other hand, had a bunch of flashes, but never quite seemed to reach any fluid state. I'd blame it on it being their first Tourney game, though of course that didn't hurt MAML or Northfield. (Might be a bit different when one team has a lot more expectations, while no one expects anything of the other two.) I still go back to their defense, which was what worried me about them when I saw them early in the season...they just struggled to break out at times and got bogged down, and everything sort of followed (or didn't follow) from there. Learning experience for a program I expect to see at State again in the not so distant future.
