From a selfish Injun fans view I would love to see Hain, McClaughlin and Stejskal come back and try to make another run. Another trip to St. Paul would just about put them into legendary status. Even though what they have accomplished already is awfully special.
The 2 headed goalie monster has been great and would be nice again next year. However, if Zach moves on, I have complete confidence in Holum. I believe he is around 27-4 as a varsity starter including a very good playoff run in 2016. Pretty nice stats against the schedule they have played the last couple of years.
While GR will be returning some very good players it would be a little more challenging to replace the offense of those 2 forwards especially given that Miller and Stampohar, etc. are lost to graduation.

Have you been keeping an eye on Middlestadt over there?
Agree Gabe is up to task, and he will be one of states Top 5 goalies next year
Would love to make that trip again. The section games have been unreal there the last few years no matter who ends up winning.
I know Mittlestadt has been doing very well for the Gamblers but I haven't been to one of their games this year. He is something else and I'm looking forward to him in a Gopher jersey.

I posted this before recently and nobody responded, but Hale has had like 2 or 3 articles written about him and what it means for him to stay in Minneapolis and just be with his childhood friends, so I'm not 100% sold he would leave this year
Was thinking about players that went to Ann Arbor and kids that didn't. Don't really know what kids have gone the last 10 yrs or so, but do recognize players that didn't, but not sure if they were asked or not. Players that stayed and played in NHL: Backus,Martin, Oshie, McDonaugh, Gardiner, Lee, Leddy, Rau, Schmidt, Brown, Ness,Bjugstad, Labate, Nelson, Prosser, Archibald. Im sure I missed some.

By number, kids that stayed in HS yet still ended up in the NHL outnumber the kids that left by a good margin. Of course, by percentage, kids that left had a higher success rate. There's no way to draw a definitive conclusion on the benefits of staying or leaving. As with anything, it comes down to the individual kid.

Prosser left HS in the middle of his senior year to play juniors.
More interest in Randklev during and since the tournament and also recently? ...leading regular-season goal scorer amongst top 20 AA teams ...
More NoDak varsity slots have been and will be opening up earlier than anticpated in the early and medium out years, could impact both players' plans for the next step in their career que?

I don't think his post has anything to do with readiness. That team wants to stay together and win a championship next year.

My guess is that the juniors are more likely to leave than the sophomores, and that kids from less successful programs are more likely to leave than kids from more successful programs.

I think Nick will be gone before Green Bay picks. I wouldn't be surprised if he goes #1 overall in Phase II of the draft. I suppose Green Bay could trade up to pick him.
I also wouldn't say with 100% certainty that he won't be playing for SCSU this fall. The Huskies only have seven defensemen lined up, and the only two committed defensemen are Perbix and Brendan Bushy. Bushy didn't exactly light it up in the USHL this season.
