2AA Final: Holy Family v. Minnetonka

Post by gitter »

Who you got? Is it true Tonka has never beaten Holy Family? Should be an interesting game.

For sure. Holy Family looked great in tearing apart Prior Lake. After the odd Cretin result I assumed this was a walk for Minnetonka. It won't be. Can't wait to see it.

I think Tonka will get by, but it won't be an easy game for them. Perhaps it will take OT to decide it.

Per the HF Twitter account, they are 6-0 in the series. This may be the best final match up of any section, at least on paper. It felt inevitable for most of the season that these two would meet to go to state.

Tonka 4 HF 2 (en) HF is not as good as last year & Tonka is really good this year, despite their past history.

Tonka 4-2 over HF...might be 5-3 if larger sheet allows for more open play and speed...which favors Tonka bit more. Should be good game. IF it does tip to the extreme? Its Tonka in a blowout, if anything.

I think the large sheet previously gave Tonka fits under the last regime even in years when you'd think their speed would benefit. Here's hoping Goldsworthy has a game plan that will help them utilize that strength. And despite having a very good PK, Tonka will need to stay out of the box - something they've not been very good at doing so far.

Good info on Tonka perspective and their play on large sheet. I hope Im in good mood and stay for Tonka/HF...If things go south from 6-8 Ill have to put my maturity cape, order some cake and deal with it.

Good luck and health to all!

Wow, that's a surprising stat. HF has to feel good going into this one.

This one will be a dandy. Too bad its work that kills any options for the many great games going on in the "state of hockey" tonight. Pulling for Tonka in this one I guess :P :P

Logging my predictions from Mariucci.

I have Edina 6-1 over Trpjans and Minnetonka 4-2 over the Fire.

MediocreSqBCoach says EHS 4-1 and 5-3 Tonka.

Tied end of two. Skips have carried the play and are 24-10 shots. Anyone’s game.

5-on-3 goal and it’s 2-1 Tonka. Fire goalie has been strong.

Haley ties it at 3-3 on one of the most ridic individual plays you’ll ever see.

HF goalie has 44 saves so far...maybe the Gophers got a commitment from the wrong HF goalie 😉😲😊 Similar to Andover vs ER after the DE laugher (Monday) this game has been back & forth, a great game, after the Edina laugher.
