They have solid defensemen, and they have some good forwards. They just got a kid from Finland aswell that is very crafty

Hey pal, obviously play/are from Brainerd and like them. You can just say that in your first post instead of asking for comments then posting that you love Brainerd in every post.
Elk River AA State Champions- 2001 Boys & 2004 Girls

Brainerd will be a good team Ryan Peltoma, Mike Baker and Carl Sneep played big leadership roles last year as juniors..and will only improve as they come into their senior year...all you naysayers will be surprised..

Brainerd has to learn to move the puck with the likes of GR, East, and CEC. I've been watching them the last few years and Brainerds' passing is not real great. Certainly there is some talent on that team. If they can improve their passing it could get them to the 7AA title game.

Post by hockey81 »

Yeah no one on the team likes the coach, but he will still be the head coach for this upcoming season.

When did they ever like a coach?? They let Pat 40 go!! Actually, he just said the heck with it. 8 years is enough! Greg A. was over-whelmed even though he's a RANGER...he thought the same about being in that town.
That team and parents are way over rated...they will lose in the 2nd round.

Well, I would say that to some extent that is true. Though you just can not continue to play mind games with kids and expect results. You can also not expect parent to be pleased when their kids are being jerked around.

Now with that said, there also needs to be a change in mentality from the parents that their boys have to actually work hard, shut their mouth and if they aren't playing, them work harder. But you need to have a coach that at least is honest, and lets you know where you stand. It is a two way street. The players do not have to like him, but they need to respect him. The coach needs to actually earn some of that respect.

Why is it that Brainerd is the only team that you see on this board that talks like this. The whining needs to stop. The parents who like to complain need to shut up and let the players decide how to be sucessful. The coach does a good job. Hard work will get you somewhere, crying and complaining will NOT. The season hasn't even started. Brainerd brings back a good core of players from last year. The JV team also had a good year which means there will be some contribution from them too. I think you will all be surprised what happens this year. Alot of the probems graduated last year and took their negative parents with them. There are a few whining parents left this year but not as many as last. The parents need to stay out of their kids heads and things will be much better.

I was recently on a road trip and stopped by the local elbow club located in downtown Brainerd. According to the locals they are looking for a very competetive/successfull season. To this I say raise your elbow and hold on tight!

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... eysense at: 11/5/05 9:58 pm

better make sure that kid from Finland is eligable. By the sounds of it Brainerd had some problems in the fall sports with some in-eligable players.

Brainerd is a dark horse they have a talented team this years but will suffer from bad coaching and a tougher section with grand rapids on the upswing as well and Elk River moving into the section

Brainerd plays tough than seems to go south at the wrong time of the season. You guys have had some great talent in the past and this season is no different but I think with a flippin' knob of a coach and some totally jacked parents the same fate awaits the pulp peelers from Brainerd. You guy represent the north and for me it would be great to see your club knock off an East or an Elk River. Heck I would love to see your club at state but I watched you guys a few years ago when Peluso was playing and that kid was a stud and that club had some horses at forward. The horsepower was there but not enough at the helm to put you boys over the top. My guess is that it will be the same this season.

Da Worriers have 3 or 4 senior thouroughbreds with leadership qualities coming back this season who have worked hard in the offseason. They also have a deep, above average supporting cast to back them up. Tyrone needs to give 3 lines a lot of playing time and develope the 4th line right from the git go to be competitive in section 7AA come later in the season.

Additionally, playing musical goaltenders doesn't help. By mid-January "THE" goaltender must be established to avoid the all to familiar last season swoon.

Brainerd will surprise a lot of people if they regularily play three lines and settle on one goaltender. If not, it will be the same ol, same ol.

The days of getting to the state tournament with one and a half to two lines is long gone!

DA krankster drives da nail home. Jpine has a point thare by golly. Da question of da day, What team has ever had da coaches playin da game?
Da Worriers have da upswing going with at least three quality srs., dat used da off season for more than da jet skis, coctails poolside at da links, dey might even have da chicks too. Some of da jrs. are followin dare example but need to scratch da drivethru gig cause dey don't care for da dryland, no dey don't have da web feet, mabe a golden spoon doe. Da soph class gotsum young studs dat got it right and are deep.
Dey got da tuffest slate to date, so dare rip da coach for doin dat if things start goin south.
With all dat is good, gotta give da credit to someone? maybe da coach ?
