St. Thomas

Post by skatintheriver » Fri Oct 14, 2005 6:09 pm

Being an alum, I am curious as to the prospects for the upcoming season. We all know about Schroeder, but what else is there? Goalie?? Is the pipeline opened to Lakeville once again? I believe I read an Eastview player has transferred and also heard Vanelli's nephew from AV. Were they varsity players? Just curious how the boys in blue will do, any clue?

AV Transfer

The transfer from AV that is Vanelli's nephew didn't play one varsity game for AV last year.

Schroeder

Schroeder and the cadets touched the eagles last year when they ended their season. Also schroeder had an assist that game and their other eighth grader had a goal. Wow Lourdes was getting owned by 14 year olds.

Warroad folks', are you serious? Beating up on an 8th grader...now playing against the ladies...might as well just play your varsity as U-15 girls youth hockey
2A

Yea you guys prolly shouldn't talk to much of yourselves for beating an eight grader, and to say he didn't do anything is crazy. That kid is stud, and will be tearing it up these next few years.

Just because he is a "stud" dosent mean he did something. He did nothing when they played warroad. I dont think its that crazy.
Play another sport if ya dont got what it takes to DangleMcFangle.

Other 3A Teams

Post by hattrick91 » Fri Oct 28, 2005 6:53 pm

I keep hearing about St. Thomas Academy and their very young phenomenal players. Aren't there other teams in 3A that are contenders? I hear that Red Wing has some very good, senior forwards. Does anyone know if that is true or not?

I think everyone should just wait and let the future determine who will be good. Jordan is a great player for his age But I have seen him play games where you don't even know he is on the ice. Let the kid play Me myself I just get a kick out of how the so called "Hockey Guys" all ways tell you that Bantams are still young and things are going to change so much but as soon as a kid scores a couple goals in the state tournament they are the first ones to put him on a pedestal. I just wish the Hockey Gods would listen to themselves talk get some conviction.

I'm not sure what point it was you were trying to make. Scattered, bitter blaming and insults. Nothing really constructive there.

My point:
People who say they know hockey tell you to let the kids develop and have fun but the minute a kid shows some promise they put him on the fast track. Which then gets everyone all wound up about how good is he and they start using words like phenom and amazing. Why don't the so called hockey experts listen to their own retoric and stick to their program. I have seen these so called phenoms of St Thomas play many times and their is no doubt they will be good high school hockey players but let them become good hockey players and then start comparing them to Neil Broten.

Firstly, I have never heard anyone comparing Schroeder to Broten. Merely acknowledgements of his great season as an 8th grader. Besides the fact that you will have hype in any level of any sport. It's not a correlation of how good of a fan you are.
