3AA semifinal: Eastview 1, CDH 0 after first period. These two teams tied 4-4 in mid-January.

Eastview 2, CDH 1, end of second. CDH tied the game midway through period, then Eastview answered a few minutes later.

Tied 2-2, ten minutes remaining in regulation.

Going into OT.

CDH wins 3-2 in OT. CDH will advance to section final against winner of Rosemount vs STA (next game at Braemar).

Fun first game at the Mar. Eastview wanted to pound Cretin physically and the Raiders gave it right back to them.

Hadn’t seen either team all season. For some reason I thought the Lightning would be deeper but it was Cretin who slowly took over the game as it went on.

Rosemount 1-0 over STA, midway through first period. PP goal early in the game.

Tied 1-1, 6:36 remaining first period.

STA 2-1, 6:06 remaining first period.

STA 3-1, 3:03 remaining first period.

3-1, end of first.

3-2, six minutes remaining in second. Rosemount with good offensive pressure in second period finally gets one in.

3-2, end of second.

3-2 FINAL. STA moves on to Friday's 3AA sectional final with archrival CDH. Rosemount could not overcome the three goals they gave up in four minutes in the first period (behind 3-1).

Southwest Christian/Richfield shuts out South St Paul and the advance to their programs FIRST EVER Section Final and they will take on Perennial Class A Power #1 seed Mahtomedi on Thursday Night.

The 3AA games were really ebb and flow. No one team controlled either game.

I thought Rosemount was the better team for the majority of the game against STA, but couldn't overcome the early deficit.

I also liked Eastview's Brothers (#11), he had a solid game.

Looks like the unranked state teams will be the 1AA, 3AA, and 8AA winners. If someone other than Andover or GR comes out of 7AA, then STA gets the #5 seed.
