"Up for Grabs" and Section 8 A and AA knows it!

Renegade......it "could" very well be Roseau and Warroad coming out of Section 8A and 8AA..... Most people don't realize that when Roseau and Warroad play, you can throw statistics and records out the window.....and the outcome can rarely be predicted! Warroad out hustled the Rams from the 2nd period on.... The Rams will take a few days to recover from their worst outting of the year, hopefully the Spuds (and fans) think they have the section wrapped up right about now....and we give them a dose of reality come playoff time. (That is assuming we regain the form we've had for most of the year.)

I would hope that Roseau's performance against Warroad was just a major night off. Watching that game had me wondering how on earth the Rams ever beat the Spuds. It definitely reinforces the fact that 8AA is one of the two weakest sections in the state.

how does one bad game reinforce that 8AA is one of the two weakest sections in the state? I'd take either the Spuds or Rams chances vs. the rest of the state.... granted, there are some weak teams in the section, but there are in every section.

8aa is no where close to "up for grabs" 2 teams can win the sections...7aa is "up for grabs" 5-7 teams have a shot at winning 7aa.

How can one tell that 8AA is one of the two weakest sections in the state? By looking at the teams within it.

There aren't too many big towns in northwest MN so the AA schools they grab are from a weak area of the state traditionally. The St. Cloud area to be exact. Why is there never a good team from St. Cloud. I've never understood that. And Roseau opted up to AA. Not sure what is wrong with Bemidji's program either. So yeah, in general it's a weak section, but so are alot of the sections. Most section only have 3 teams that are contenders then it drops off. I'd take Moorhead or Roseau any day. The kids in these programs just know how to play and win big games. Much like Warroad knows how to win big games which is why they beat a more talented team in Roseau.

St. Cloud's only youth program traditionally has been good, rivaling Centennials in District 10. But then you divide up the kids 3-ways for high school. This year for the first time they are fielding 2 bantam A teams. Unfortunately they are 3-28-3 combined. It will be good for the High School programs in the long run.

Stitch Lips - Your post is pathetic, although I like the "weak" joke, not bad. Obvioulsy a section is bigger than one team, which is why they call it a section - get it? Guess not, too complicated. Hey Media Guide...8AA is top heavy not weak... there is a difference... the definition of a weak section is if the champion has no chance to do anything at state... either Roseau or Moorhead could do damage at state... so top heavy NOT weak... the top teams are good

I mistyped, I meant to say 8AA "reeks." Actually I didn't, but it is a weak section by any objective analysis. Please explain to me your fascination with defending your section by defining it as 'sending a team that has the ability win State' but NEVER, EVER does? No offense to the Roseau folks, who obviously have. Write me when you get back from the Emerald City, Husker - and say hi to Dorothy for me while you're there. The sections in your world are nothing but a dream.

In the minds of those loyal to traditional section 8 ... section 8 doesn't exist south of US 10 from Detroit Lakes on. The state ha ha league threw garbage up our way when they started the two-class system. They even tried have a twin-city suburb (Elk River) represent Section 8AA for a few years, but failed miserably. As far as we are concerned ... monticello and river lakes are very very strong teams and that's why every team in the Mariucci Conference won't schedule them ... we are afraid of getting pounded by them. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"> For us purists ... this is our section: The Mariucci Conference. At least our section isn't represented by an "all-star" team from the twin cities. Our kids, for the most part have been with their programs since squirts. For you to say Section 8 is the weakest section in Minnesota is not only a slap in the face to Roseau, Moorhead, Thief River Falls & Warroad .... it shows your intellect, or lack thereof ... regarding high school hockey in this great state of Minnesota. Section 8AA is a weak section this year compared to the other 7. I would rate section strength based on top to bottom of the teams, not on who can do the most damage @ state. Husker - don't be so sure about 1AA. After all, it's you fearless leader who you follow like a lemming who declares that it is all "Up for Grabs" this year. I guess I thought that was true every year, but it appears that is not the case.
