Mr. Hockey

Post by Hockeyisthebest21 »

Lee is a great player, it is too bad that i will remember him as a player that had a bad championship game. He got burnt on AHA's first goal pretty easily. Do they vote on it before the end of the tournament? If they do that certainly helped him win the award. Based on some of the finalist performances in state, TJ Oshie of Warroad should have one it. Mr. hockey award will look nice on the mantle, but it won't beat that AA state champs medal.

Well at least Moorhead didn't get screwed like from the game or like when Matt Cullen was up for this award, congrats to Brian, he deserves it.

Lee vs Oshie

Post by Triple Deke »

Congrats Lee, but you didnt' even play a full season of HS hockey. Sure you were off playing juniors and that should have been enough praise for you. But I guess the writers decided that wasn't enough. Not knocking you for all the skills you have, but when you score 99 points like Oshie did, I just find that better evidence to award him with the Mr. Hockey award

Just my 2 cents, but then again, who really cares?

quit your b#$%$ing....saying the only reason he won it was because he went to play in the World Juniors....I believe the last MN H.S. student who played on that team DID NOT win Mr. Hockey! And you can't compare a defenceman to a forward....saying "but oshie had 99 points" yes tj had a lot of points and he's a great player.....but Brian plays DEFENCE, he STOPS people from scoring, that's his job! TJ's job on the other hand is to score.

Once again, anyone up for this award is a great player and has a lot of hockey ahead of them.

Having said that, I'm glad a D-man won the award. Many D don't get the credit for what they do, and it shouldn't be all about points. I know Lee got a lot of credit, but in general, many defensman get overlooked for not scoring over 50 points.

AHA 2002 & 2005 State Champions!

Brian Lee is very deserving of Mr. Hockey. Give him 3 years and he will be wearing an NHL sweater. That is if the NHL continues.
I hope he can help Lincoln to a title in the ushl this year.

Congradulations to Mr. Lee he is a class act, humble and doesn't like to be in the spotlight. If you watch the news the other night he said it is the team that makes you a great player. I love that. He is exactly right one person does not make a team. For what it is worth I think there are alot of Mr. Hockey in Minnesota. We are very fortunate that we live in a state that has the caliber of hockey that we have. Our hockey is second to none. So I say Congradulations to all the hockey people all the way from Mites all the way up to the Minnesota College team. You gotta Love it. Minnesota hockey is the Greatest in the World!!!!
