How about some specifics on the Elk River team? I know they lose 13 seniors icluding Warhol, Godlewski, ostroot, Graham, and Scaterelli. Looks like they have some scoring back in malzahn and martell. What else is back for them and how did their JV do?

On a side note...Did Godlewski or Ostroot go to Juniors or are they waiting to be drafted? If not will both be in the USHL?

Any word on Forest Lake? Every few years they seem to put together a decent team, then take a few off. Will they be making a push any time soon?

East will be a contender as always, but i heard fairchild might leave for the NTDP. Any truth to this?

There isn't really anyone who stands out as a pure scorer, they all dig deep and fight for the goals. For forwards they will have Malzahn, Koehler & Peterson and for defense Martell & Slavik as my prediction for the top line. I could be wrong. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... lasses.gif ALT="8)"> Also, who knows who will move-in during the offseason. But like I said, no pure goal scorers. Mostly play tough D and pounce on the few opportunites that they get. Alot of low scoring, grinding type of games. ER '06 in a nutshell.

As far as the JV, I'm pretty sure they only lost 2 games this year so the people coming up to replace the seniors can't be that bad <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... tongue.gif ALT=":p">
Elk River AA State Champions- 2001 Boys & 2004 Girls

How do you think C-E-C will be next year? With Elk River in the section next year maybe a new rival between East and Elk River or Cloquet and Elk River but im hoping East and Cloquet stay the way they are.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ckeyfan at: 3/13/05 4:23 pm

Cloquet vs. Elk River

Post by greyhound05 » Sun Mar 13, 2005 9:08 pm

This year Cloquet was way underrated(and very easily could have represented 7AA). And Elk River was lucky to get out of their section. And if I am not mistaken Elk River is graduating alot of kids. So I would have to say number 1 and 2 in 7AA will stay the same as long as Cloquet has Ellingson, and East has Fairchild and Turnball.

I'm not sure what Ostroot & Godlweski are doing. There was talk of Godlewski going to Yale and playing hockey, but I haven't heard much about that lately. I hope that both continue with hockey because they are very skilled and have worked hard to get where they are.

Put ER @ #3 in 7AA if you want, they are pretty damn good at overcoming odds. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... lasses.gif ALT="8)">
Elk River AA State Champions- 2001 Boys & 2004 Girls

It's hard to say how ER will fit in, I think GR should be better next year because they never seem to have too many bad years in a row. If they are better, I'm assuming FL and Brainerd will be back at their normal lows and the top four will be East, Cloquet, ER or GR, in order, with ER and GR going either way.

Quote:
ER and GR going either way.

This has been talked about before...... I say Rapids gets a #5 seed next year. ER depends on how they 'change' their schedule to include 7AA teams. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /tired.gif ALT="|I">

That's true. What did ER's schedule look like anyway? Speaking of schedules, I think Cloquet should get out of the LSC. They play a lot of weak teams for it, but they also play Marshall too though so I guess it depends on how you look at it.
