Veterans Memorial Arena (Open Hockey)

Post by mnhockey14 » Thu Mar 17, 2005 8:38 pm

I recently found out about a fairly nice little arena located in Northwest Minneapolis on the Robinsdale border. Weekly open hockey.

Monday-Friday 3pm-515pm
Saturday-11am-1pm (not positive of the time)
Cost: $6

It's pretty solid pick up hockey, during the Summer some USHL players come and many high school kids skate there daily. About 8-15 people and 1-2 goalies on average.

Good Time

Anyone else played there or know much about it?

<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... lasses.gif ALT="8)"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... lasses.gif ALT="8)">

This is great hockey, its a great way to stay sharp if your not playing in any leagues over the summer and are trying to tune up for the up comming season. I know a couple times I was there, there were 2-3 Minnesota St. kids and 2 or 3 gophers I know 1 forsure was Wendell(sp) because he was with his sister. Anyways its the great open hockey.

Does anyone know where else there may be good open hockey?

I have played there regularly over the past few years...since they do not put a limit on the number of players that are allowed there have been numerous times where players from both sides are actually sitting in the stands...The BEST pick up hockey you will find, as rcla said all of the studs who either play or will be playing high school, juniors, college, or even pros play up there...Also on Friday and Saturday nights at Brooklyn Park arena there is open hockey...it's pretty good; I also know that Richfield has some good puck too although I'm not exactly sure what time it is at
