1)Hibbing will be tough I would pick them as the favorite.

2)Virginia will be competitive IF they get a goalie

3)Hermantown graduated a lot of players and points. JV bench was not heavily populated last year.

Sophomores - Jaminick (Hibbing), Westin (VMIB). Mausloff is going to Marshall. Grivette (Eveleth - if de doesn't go to East), Josh Leinum (Falls), Orhn (Greenway), Huttel (Hermantown)

Juniors- Sacchetti (Virginia) Leblanc (Hermantown) Decenzo (hibbing) Youso (falls) Hjelle (falls) Krause (Hermantown), Villa (VMIB), Sutherlund (Hibbing), Sonday (2 Harbors),

Seniors- Kapella (Hibbing) McGillvray (Virginia), Kishel (VMIB), Sandstrom (Eveleth), Toumi (Hibbing) Macnamee (VMIB), Schmidt (Hermantown), Guzzo (2 Harbors), Hardy (Hermantown), Gornick (Eveleth)

I didn't say Grivette WAS going to East like I said Mauslof WAs going to Marshall. I have just heard rumors Grivette was going to East. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Sorry...Sutherland is going to be a senior...I put him on the wrong list.

I would also like to add Underwood (Greenway) to me sophmore list. He is a very good young goalie

7A next year

Hermantown should be favored with Hibbing & Virginia fighting for second.

I've heard that Eveleth, I. Falls and T. Harbors have players coming for football, and or, hockey to another school in the area.

Underwood is a very good young talent. Word is Virginia has a goalie coming, anything true to this?

Hibbing/Chisholm BlueJacket/Streaks?

Post by hawkfan70 »

Saw on the news the other day about Chisholm hoping to combine with Hibbing for next season.
What is the talk on da range about it?
I assume that most from Hibbing are strongly opposed

there has been talk on that issue but I dont see CHisolm kids making a big impact because as it is, their better players have moved to Hibbing to play.

Haven't heard this one but it could be possible. The "Hockey people" know there is a big need in this position in Virginia and it may attract players looking for an oppertunity.

If they do get a goalie and he is average to good this would make Virginia a real contender for another 7A and IRC Championship. They have a lot of impact players and points returning from last year. The big (Giant) hole is between the pipes...without that hole filled a championship is doubtful and a 3rd place finish is very possible. I will add however even without a tender moving in I predict we won't see them below 3rd with the fire power they have back.

I've heard Mccloud from the Falls is going to live with someone in Virginia. I dont know if he would help Virginia out in nets too much or not?

Watched the McCloud kid play a JV game this year...shouldn't help out the Bluedevils too much. He let in about 8 goals and just seemed lazy. Maybe they'll whip him into shape.

Neither of them caught my eye too much watching them play Hibbing in districts and Rapids. I dont think they'll benefit much to that HS team
