Moorhead JV

Post by doeislandguy »

Nwhky - you say that the JV plays the same schedule as the Varsity - right? The Var only has 23 games, and you can play 25. Why don't you come down to the cities and play in a little 4 team tourney at the end of the year then. The NW Suburban Conf. is putting on a JV tourney, Andover doesn't have a JV, so everyone is short 2 games. The top teams would be more than happy to have you down. 58-0, I'm calling you on the carpet, put up or shut up. No excuses. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">

The varisty play 24 games in a season as does the JV. If I had the power to bring the JV down for a show down with some of the JV metro teams I would. So it is hard for me to do that. I guess the JV's will have to continue to beat all the JV teams of the school the Varsity plays. Until someone beats them they are still undefeated. Since you are an offical in the world of Minnesota hockey, why don't you contact the school and set up a play off of sorts. If you do, make sure the teams play their JV players and not move varisty kids down. With the way the Moorhead JV's play, that would be the only way a team could beat them. OK Nwhky, I see your hands are tied behind your back. The Spuds will just have to keep hiding up there - beating up on all the Falls, Fargos and Forks. The JV will play in a watered down 3rd rate, at best, tourney next winter as will the Varsity. You see, if you want respect in the metro, you have to come down and beat metro teams, otherwise quit crying about the little respect your club receives or that the JV has amassed such an impressive record - over who again?. BTW - just watched the '95 final on tape, Little Ace got lit up in the 3rd by #33, remember? Good times... <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">

Please remind me of whom #33 is in 1995. We were traveling with youth hockey at that time. I know it is hard to accept that the Moorhead JV is as good as any JV team in the state, only undefeated team in the state last year. This is a good feeder program for varsity and can give some insight to what is ahead. You are right about one thing, our teams play weak teams, very weak. Have a good day. Train is rollin....

Better JV Team: Greenway

Post by nwhky »

Green way was way better than Hibbing this past weekend. Greenway had size and speed and could bury the biscuit. The score was 7-3, however their three came at the end of the game against number 5 goalie.
train keeps a rollin....61-0<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">

reality check

Post by auggie09 »

lets be serious here, any 15-17 year old team can beat on peewees and the competition moorehead plays is quite similar to 12 and 13 year olds. as i posted in another thread, moorehead has nothin on the top metro jv's and other tops in state(EP, JHS, Valley, East). Jv is a feeder program for varsity, remind me of your recent or even past varsity success, im not gonna lie, between the four teams mentioned above i can count at least 8 titles between them and im not seeing many for moorehead, its like you guys are comparing peewee b2's, you can have a great team, good for you, but its nothing like the A's... get my point? and avoiding metro competition is nuts, there is probably a reason you guys arent invited to tournaments like the capitol city where the top jv and varsity teams compete. JHS=4 losses in the past two and half years too, thats a lot better than your sister of the poor record when they play legitimate competion...

Auggie, you are right about one thing, Moorhead has not won a state title, yet. Success, yes because year in and year out they are there, just have not brought home the big one. The JV team plays the same schedule as the varsity, so you feel the varisty plays a weak schedule? The JV team beat East by at 8 goals, AHA by 8, the closest game of the year was agianst the best metro JV team, Wayzeta. So you are calling East, AHA and Zeta 12 -13 year olds? Come out and watch the JV's play Hill Murry on the 15th. Hummm, the JV's have beaten them two years running. Are they a bunch of 12-13 tear olds? 66-0 Train keeps a rollin.........<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">

Yes I have one. Are you wanting to know how many JR and Soph's are on the team? 23 Soph's and 6 JR's. It is much like the numbers they had last year.

Who said I have a kid that plays this game? Well actually I do, she will be a 2nd year mite next year and the other has played Varsity for two years. Thanks for your concern. I feel the JV's have a right for air play, especially when they are 66-0.......find someone with a better record.....Train keeps a rollin......<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">

fact check

Post by auggie09 »

we need a skill check in aisle three, ok this nwhky guy needs to find a store when he can buy a clue because obviusly your sourvces are coming from guam or someplace like that...for one wayzata is an average metro team, sorry bud but they couldnt stay on the same ice sheet as EP or JHS, you cant even spell their name right (wayzeta) how do you expect me to believe that you have actually seen them play? As for your son playing varsity, congratulations (this is one of my serious remarks here, i actually do mean it, to play with the best of a city should make parents proud, thats what makes all the 6 am practices worth while which you are experiencing with your younger daughter, good luck to her and girls hockey in general) the fact of the matter is, the jv teams competition resembles that of section 1AA, they dont play a hard game every game day like they do in the lake, they havent played any solid teams from the metro obviously with your WAYZ'e'ta remark, and the real truth is varsity is all that matters in high school, jv isnt out to win games, its out to develop players, so if putting some of your better sophomores and juniors on jv just to win games is your thing, then more power to you, but the real big boys from the cities will keep pulling down state title banners until our arms fall off....years without a moorehead state championship keeps rollin....<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">

Did I say I had a son that plays varsity? Please don't cry your tears here on the JV board about varisty. You come here to down play the JV, whats up with that. You want to comment on varsity, you are in the wrong place. Not sure what school, or kindergarden you attend, but they must not win a lot of jv games, unlike Moorhead at 66-0...BTW, no one from the varsity sqaud plays down on JV's just to win a game, don't need to, they win anyway, yes even against the lowely Metro JV teams. Train keeps a rollin......<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol"> Oh, do you know how to use spell check? my backround, i guess its necessary

Post by auggie09 »

"the other has played Varsity for two years"~taken from about 5 responses up.....but i guess it is necessary for me to give my backround to have a valid point now or something, i was actually only on one championship team in '94, the tail end of the three year run (yeah baby blue). 94-95 letter years on varsity. Left senior year for an educational opportunity and ended up swamped, didn't like it, worst choice ever leaving as a junior. Ended up dropping out of college and havent played competitive hockey since high school. now im back pursuing my masters at the U. I dont find the relevance in that but if it satisfies you then i guess it was worth it. Keep me updated on the mhd boys, how many left? schedule glitch....in no where in MSHL does it say that schrimmages count as games..schrimmages can have referees. Organizing a Weekend of top JV schrimmages is fully legal. MHD should host for sake of their record and it would bring some press to spudtown.

Yes it would be awsome

Post by nwhky »

One game left, with a win they can honestly say they have another undefeated season. Last year they went 24-0. No scrimmages in the stats, only scheduled games. They lost the championship game in Hastings Dec 28, 2000, have not lost since. I think it is impressive. Only ties to the team are the kids of my friends.
It must have been a great thrill to win the big one. A lot to be proud of.
It would be cool if MHD could put together a JV tourney, but I doubt that happens with the economic down fall of this great state.
Good luck with school....

MHD JV AWESOME

Post by Hocktalk101 »

Moorhead's JV team is the best JV team in the state. I watched them tonight play Hill-Murray's JV team which was supposed to be one of the better jv teams. Moorhead dominated the whole game and came out with a win. They seemed not to be scoreing as well as they usually do, but they got the job done. Good season for the Moorhead JV team.
