Most Memorable Goal
Now that the season is just starting, I was wondering what everyone's most memorable goal in the state tourney is. For Greenway fans I think these goals were the most exciting:
1. Gino Guyers OT goal against Eden Prairie.
2. Ken Gernanders' solo goal against Kennedy (1987).
3. Ken (or Gary?) Lawson's goal against Hibbing (1967).
4. Andy Setich's tying goal against Eden Prairie.
5. Mike Antonovich's face-off goal against Mounds View (1968).

Most Memorable Goal
The one my brother scored at the state tourney.
Well, 2 of mine come from the same game. Chris Locker's tying goal late in the 3rd period in the 5 OT classic between Duluth East and Apple Valley was a great goal. I have watched that game many times and Spehar puts it right on the tape in front for him in the slot to fire in. Goehring misses the puck with his toe by what seems like inches, had he saved it, we would never have seen 5 Overtimes of great hockey.
Aaron Dwyer's game winning goal is huge too because it ends the game and maybe more importantly shows Minnesota that East would not repeat. Sikich I think backhands it back to him and he just lets it go and it goes right over Kolquist's right shoulder, ending arguably the best high school hockey game ever played in Minnesota.
Spehar's penalty shot goal the previous year was also a big goal. It helps him and the Greyhounds take first and leave the Spuds with second. I don't know if it was the only penalty shot ever in tournament history, maybe someone knows, I don't think it was though.
That's what I have off the top of my head, I know I've seen more. I'll post again if I think of them.

Rapids
This is the new INDIANSFOREVER.
Some GReat memories:
1. White taking over Roseau game.
2. White making it 3-1 over Hill.
3. Steskal empty netter vs Roseau.
4. Hicks empty netter vs CEC in 7AA final. (favorite)
5. Morse gwg vs CEC with 4:50 left.
6. Morse gwg vs Elky in 7AA semis.
7. Wickstrom OT goal @ #1 Greenway Dec. 7, 2001. (Lumbo decks Guyer at center to start the odd-man rush.)
8. Lumbo's goal to make it a cozy 4-2 lead in 2003 semis vs CEC.
9. Hippaka's OT goal vs FLake in 2003 quarters.
10. Jared Smith getting first goal vs Elky (last year's semis) on 24th and final shot of the second period.
So many more!

Moorhead
For most Moorhead fans, its the 1994 section championship goal...Rob Gramer putting it in to beat #1 Elk River in the fourth overtime. That was pretty awesome.

technically...
Yeah, boblee that was a good goal. But, it made the score 2-0. Brainerd notched their only goal very late in the first by crashing the net on a delayed penalty. I only know cuz we have that game on DVD.
Mike Erickson 2002
Mike Ericksons goal to get CEC to state was amazing.
Last year, that kid from STA scoring the goal in the semi's to win the game and then scoring the winning goal in the final was pretty sweet. White had some great goals for GR when they played Hill. SChroeder putting that goal in with only one hand.
Earlier, how about Marvin's goal two years ago from Oshie that won the State Tournament in OT.

Wyatt Smith
I can't remember who the Defencemen was (maybe tom lund) but it was in the 94 state tournament. I belive semifinals against Totino Grace. IN overtime the Dman took a slapshot that was going wide of the net and it deflected of Wyatt Smith's shaft and deflected into the net for the game winner.

You are right, I will never forget that game, that goal, that night. I've never seen an eruption from the rapids faithful that can top that one. That one goal may have been the turning point for the program.
