Central at Marshall 12-9

Post by HShockeywatcher »

Word on the street is that Central has a pretty wicked goalie. He didn't play in their 4-6 L to Silver Bay. Could a good goalie be enough to beat Marshall? A win at Mars would really stir up rankings and thoughts of sections...

Looks like HShockeywatcher is stirring things up here. DC does have a good goalie. The upset will be if the game does not go into running time.

hes not that great, he has a descent save % but thats not hard to do when u have 40-50 sog and 1/2 are weak dump shots.. Hes a descent goalie at a crap school,

Connollys line is gonna put them in running time period..

Obviously it's probably a W for Marshall, but being as good of a goalie as he is can make thing happen. He's an amazing goalie on a bad team. Sure it's not hard to have a good save percentage if you're good and get a lot of shots, like he is. Not sure where the source or where you would even find this sort of thing, but he's rated as one of the top 5 goalies in MN. Although standings don't reflect it, he's really cocky, so they didn't play him in their 4-6 loss, so that would've easily been a win without the backup. I'm going to try to be there to see it, so we'll see how good he is. Anyone know where goalies are ranked?

Marshall what a waste. Sure they have connelly lines, but that team is no way near to what it was last year. And what would be said if Central comes out ahead in this game mj79??

So if they only have connolys line why are they the second best team in class A? Your right that they are not near to what they were last year, marshall third line this year is not nearly as good, but their second line is better than most teams first line.

Its just one of those things you just know... it wont happen, Look at east, not a ton of scoring on there lines , and leis was out after 1 period i think.. Now look at the connolly line, probably one of the top in the state and alot of scoring.. Dont sound shocked when i say mashall will landslide this one

How are they 2nd best? Cathedral is undefeated. Central could pull an upset. Hermantown is up there too. And there's other 7A and 8A teams that are up there. I really don't think Marshall will be the 2nd seed in state if they make it.

and on top of that unless central outshoots marshall ( haha yea im a funny guy ) marshall will prolly put up more goals in running time than central will shots in the game, plus central has zero scoring ..

10-2 marshall

shots... 50-9

Is this a joke, marshall beat CDH, and tied STA both top 5 teams in the state, so if anyone thinks that DC has a chance they should really stop posting on here...

Not to say you're necessarily wrong, but anyone who would've thought Eagan would've beat Holy Angels last year was a moron too, but it happened, that's why games aren't played on paper and that's why we call them upsets.

The difference there is the quility of teams... i believe it was apple valley who upset AHA last year, AV was a decent team with a couple really good players, and central doesnt have a decent player on there team... there best player would play 4th line on marshall... when that happens there isnt a chance for an upset
