East Grand Forks vs. Hermantown 12/27

Post by Zamboni Guy »

The East Grand Forks Greenwave will be facing the undefeated Hermantown Hawks on Wednesday, December 27th in Thief River Falls at the TRF Holiday Classic. Any thoughts or predictions about this match-up? Will EGF hand the Hawks their first loss or will Hermantown stay unblemished for the season?

Hermantown will not lose this game. I predict 6-1 Hermantown.

EGF will have their hands full at the TRF Holiday Classic. Hermantown will earn their top billing leaving town unbeaten with 3 more wins. EGF will have to find more leaders besides their Freshman forward and goaltending needs to pick up. EGF will leave TRF winless in three games.

Go to the Warroad v EGF thread and become enlightened Oh Young Grasshopper. Can you say behind the woodshed?

Should be a good game

EGF is not strong.
Witness 2-2 tie with Park Rapids.
But they always put up a good game and they have a good goalie.
Lot's of saves against Warroad.

Hermie = 3
EGF = 2

EGF may be that team that is tough to evaluate. They may beat Hallock or Bagley 2-1 on Tuesday and then have the Rams down entering the 3rd period on a Thursday. EGF may be that team that plays everyone close regardless of the opponent or shots on net.

Shantyman, Dare I say it is not St Paddy's Day? Sounds like you have been standing under the shamrock to long. Better order yourself a shanty burger. You did get one fact right however, EGF appears to compete up or down based on the opponent.

Good win for the Hawks. Crookston is up next for Coach Plante's boys. They should be able to stay unblemished through that one. Hardy must have played in the net for Hermantown, he is a very good goalie that I don't think gets enough credit because he is overshadowed by the Hawks potent offense. Sounds like EGF put up a good defensive effort as well.

I do like Hardy in nets. Last year he posted a 2.03 GAA, adding to that stat is 19 wins and a 913 SV%
