Cloquet VS Brainerd Jan 2nd

Post by quickgym guy » Wed Dec 27, 2006 8:50 am

With Brainerd coming back to reality and the way the Jacks are playing does anyone think this could be the first upset of the new year?

Being the game of the series at the CARC, I'd have to say Cloquet. TJ and the kid from Stockholm will be too much O for Brainerds D.

Cloquet 5
Brainerd 1

Close game

Post by Syd Barrett » Wed Dec 27, 2006 5:12 pm

With the way these two teams have played against each other the past 3 or 4 years, I doubt the 'jacks will be overlooking the Warriors =; These games are usually determined by 1 goal and I don't think that's going to change [-(

The home teams wins this one by two with an empty netter :(

Barnyard wins this one 3 to 1. Cloquet plays their worst game of the year and the warriors pull of the upset.

Maybe if it were in Brainerd, but it's not. The Lumbermen have home ice and they are a great team. They will win.

Excluding the CDH game in which Brainerd lost 3-0, and they didn't even play that bad in that game, Brainerd has always played to their opponents level, whether that is up or down in that particular game.

Elk River W 2-1
GR T 2-2
Sartell W 6-5
Fergus L 6-2
Blaine W 2-1

Anyways my point in those facts is that Brainerd tends to play at their opponents level so my predicition........

Brainerd 3
CEC 2

Snider shows up Ellingson :D

With Ellingson a little rusty after the long Christmas break and Snider coming off an impressive showing vs. STA (hopefully), Snider saves the Warriors a couple of times and keeps the game close. In ther third period, Sam Holland (aka Chops) nets a goal third period to tie the game at 2. The Warriors score on a powerplay in OT subsequently devistating the town of Cloquet and turning section7AA upside down.

My prediction.

Could be the first great bowling match of the year
CEC takes the same seat Brainerd did with Sartell and Fergus Falls
If they don't win BIG, eyes will open or roll in 7AA.
If the game ends with a tie, loss or 1 goal win, Brainerd goes away with the good feeling and CEC will hate the next days practice. :P

CEC 4
BRD 1

or

Brd 3
CEC 2 OT

Safe bet on the first, if I was to win the Lotto within the next week, take the second. 8)

#28 for the Warriors, everyone in Brainerd calls him Chops, just to let everyone know......just so the administrators dont think it's a bad thing you said (aka Chops)

cec by 5?????? thats not gonnna be the case. after big wins against blaine in OT and beating STA 3-2 for the consolation ship... brainerd has rebounded well from the fluke loss to fergus. they are playing well right now. certainly not gonna be a 5 goal game. its always close. count on brainerd to be shooting out the gates right away. be a fun game to watch. 1-2 goal game if you throw an empty netter in there

Elliot is a complete idiot and hasnt got a game right since 1972. He thinks the 'jacks are so superior in their own rink because bemidji hasnt won nothin but a curling title in ten years. He will see the definintion of overrated on Tuesday.

I get that MO about win # 3. OOps- I mean game three. I'll take the worriers by 2.

I like the name 'CHOPS' hope he hacks some more in the net. Dontcha think CLoquet should be very afraid of that top line NHL06?

Cloquet has nothing to be afraid of. them Barnyard boys are a solid team but does anyone really think this will be the game to break CEC's perfect season? With the firepower of the jacks first line, the physicality of their second line, and 2 more solid lines to back them up, the jacks will never tire out. having Ellingson in the nets is always a bonus as well.

The jacks will stay unbeaten after this one.

Jacks 4

Warriors 3
Sincerely,
Jack

This will be a tought game for the warriors. they had a great showing at the schwans cup. Played three very tought -physcial games.
they are a scrappy team and play so well as a team. I just think the timing of the game is bad.

CEC 4 Warriors 2 empty net goal
