I asked the same question a few weeks ago to a couple of players that played when he did. They told me that he did not have much success in junior hockey and had gobe back to Silver Bay. They did not say he was working at the mines, but they did say he was playing on a bar league team. Hope all is good with him.

That's unfortunate, he was a talent. Well, the best for him.
breden went down to santa fe, couldnt handle it after a week or 2, and is living in silver bay working and playing bar leagues. according to quite a legitimate source.
Why is everyone surprised that Nate Braden isn't playing hockey
in the NAHL or USHL? He racked up so many points playing in Silver
Bay for a weak team, with a weak Class A schedule.
Some words that perhaps he also had some attitude issues? I know that he left some teams under suspect reasons. I just hope he gets his mind focused and gets on with his life..
If any of you are still interested, it was just brought to my attention last night that Nate has been recruited to play for the University of Wisconsin-Superior next season. He will, however, still have to tryout and actually make the team. UWS is notorious for recruiting kids and then cutting them in tryouts. Good luck to him.

It's surprising because he has the talent to play at that level, not because of his points in high school
But after hearing he's been recruited it doesn't surprise me a bit! Good luck to Breden and I hope he stays fresh on the skates.
