JV teams -2nd class?

Post by stripes » Fri Jan 26, 2007 11:52 am

My son is a soph on a JV team(where he belongs) and I am amazed at how the JV team gets treated as scum and looked down upon. Is this the case in the better hockey programs? I would think coaches would realize that 1/3 -1/2 half of these JV guys will contribute to Varsity someday. Back when I played(both JV & V) I remember the coach making an effort to treat us as 1 big team. Maybe he was an exception? I realize I am not in a postion to change anything but would like to hear of other's experiences.

at hermantown we all get treated very evenly. we all get access to the same facilities, we share a locker room, sometimes we practice together and for the most part everyone on the hockey team are friends in some way.

i play at a school, on both the jv and varsity team...and we are all treated just as fair in all aspects of practicing and playing.
