'New for 2006' In-Season Wooden Roller Coaster Poll
Allows 2005 Poll Participants to Add the 'New for 2006' Wood Coasters as They Ride Them.
Why Another Poll?
This poll is designed to give an objective ranking to the six 'new for 2006' wooden roller
coasters while there is still plenty of time to make plans to ride them in 2006.
Hopefully, this immediate feedback is helpful to coaster enthusiasts, as new wooden
roller coasters can change quite a bit over the course of a season
let alone after the numerous weather cycles of a full off-season.
In the past, most new wooden roller coasters would have had to hibernate through a
long winter of weather that could change their ride characteristics before any enthusiasts
would be able to plan a visit based on the results of the November poll.
How it Works
Designed to be simple to participate in and to administer, only 2005 poll participants
may send an updated ballot line when they ride and rank one of the six new for 2006
wood coasters. The poll results will be updated throughout the season as new ballot
additions are received, check back often.
Limiting the participants to those who participated last year and limiting them to only
sending a new ballot line for any of the six new for 2006 wooden coasters they have ridden
(no other changes) makes it much easier to administer and easier for the participants.
How to Participate
2005 Wood Coaster Poll participants were e-mailed a ballot at the address they used for
the 2005 poll. If you participated in the 2005 poll but your e-mail address has changed
or you did not receive a ballot, you can contact me at wcoasterpoll@yahoo.com
Steel Poll?
An in-season steel poll may be done, depending on interest/participation in the in-season wood poll.
An in-season steel poll would only include a small fraction of the ~70 new for 2006 steel coasters.
