Re: Dear Halla
I'm sorry I don't think you're following me... there wouldn't be any sections just one big bracket of 64 teams and then once you got to 8 you would go to the X and also anyone could play anyone in the earlier rounds it wouldn't matter where you're from I've got an even better way... just do a 64 te...

Copy BSM and move to AA that's where, IMO, all private schools should be playing and if they want to argue they're the top team they should be playing in the tournament with the top teams. Evey year this question is asked and every year I'll return the same response. NO they didn't play AA, so they'...

206 had the best chants Was this your first state tourney? 206 216 and every other section that takes it upon themselves to be the comedians of the tournament have been using the same chants for the past 2-3 years. Goldy did you get confused on what thread this was? I think you just proved his poin...

Re: You have to be kidding me
well for starters you should have a better record than 14-11, wouldnt expect them to lose to a team 10-3, and should definately beat eastview more than 2-1 and rosemount 4-3 Is Blaine not in your final top ten either then? "The51" is overmatched, and everyone knows it. I'll jump in this c...

Re: Ref Consistency
I know a lot of people will scoff at this thread, but in the past 4 years, I have noticed quite a difference between the refs in southwest mn and the rest of the state. For those of you who aren't familiar with swmn hockey I'll do my best to explain. With refs like Ethan Anderson, it is not uncommo...

Blaine is ripe for the picking. I've seen them twice in person this year and both time their defense was really poor. They have one pretty good line and Bjugstad, who was responsible for all 3 goals against Maple Grove. All you need to do is get ahead of Blaine and then forecheck like crazy and the...

the video failed to capture a shot of the 11-1 scoreboard. And the guys elbow was also quite clearly put into 3's facemask. I'm all for physicality but that was probably more out of frustration than just playing hockey. This was a clean hit. The Armstrong player never raised his elbow/arm. He kept ...

Re: Too Much Talent
I'm pretty confident about going to state this year. Again. A monkey could coach that team of all stars to state. Scales are most definitely tipped in HM favor when they can just reload with area talent year in and year out. One solution would be to have one each private A and private AA metro sect...

Elliot i never made an argument that UMD should be in the top 5, they're about where they should be ranked, and from your argument that means BSU should be there too. My argument is that they're overrated for what they've done to this point. Placing them anywhere from the spot below Quinni to where ...

Ok so i'm not going to say that the Beavers are not good enough to be ranked with the top teams, because they've played with the top teams but I argue that the Beavers have not done enough to earn their position as top 5 team. The reason i say this is because they haven't beaten anyone (besides miam...

Here's why: Mike Tice, Tim Brewster, even Brad Childress, the ballot is out on Richardson.... Minnesota has had way too many unknown coaches in major sports. None of the above really proved anything before they were hired or after. I think we, Minnesota sports fans deserve more at this point. The b...

The reasons for all of the above posts are because of an administration at the high school that is too closely connected to the coaches. Parents have attempted to get the coaches out (more unified than sarsland) as well as outsiders but they're never successful. Therefore frustration with the coache...

North has talent but none of the guys want to stay with the program. Coach needs to go but no one has enough pull to get him out unfortunately. There are coaches willing to take over that would do a much better job with the program but since they're stuck with current staff they're unable to compete.

I gotta agree with the post on the other tUMD board about Eidsness looking awful. I wasnt impressed with him in warmups when they came to the DECC, although he did play better during the game. I think THIS is a case of good team defense making the goalie look good. Should be a good defensive (hopefu...

A fun game to watch. These are two good teams, and there still is a chance they both find a way into the tourney (with no upsets around the country). UMD has to win one game and they're in, Wisconsin has to win the tourney, and Minnesota needs UND or Denver to win it and some help out east. The Bul...
