ColdasIce You know just as well as I do that he was underused for one reason only. Because of your "FAVORITE" player. Rob Johnson. He was the focal point of the team and he shouldn't have been. For whatever reason Rob has caught every break from the coaching staff since his 10th grade seas...

GR haha good point...but if you wanted to say it's Bernie's Minnesota Made you've got another crop of kids coming in the future. He started a team like he did with the MN 88's called the MN 96 Machine. Supposedly they are UNBELIEVABLE and Bernie says at this point their farther along in their develo...

Past: Housley, Broten Future: Peter Mueller, Erik Johnson, Matt Niskanen, Tom Gilbert are pretty obvious here's others who people may not be on everyone's radar for being good NHL'ers Chad Rau - Why? He was drafted with the last pick in his draft year by the Toronto Maple Leafs. The reason he was dr...

GR-

I agree they will be a two man show but I think that Jamnick deserves more than being recognized just as an alright player. He's good with the puck, he can skate, score, and plays very hard.

MetroScout

That wouldn't surprise me to say the least either. Especially if he was used as Tampa Bay used Brad Richards on forward for even strength situations and on defense when they had powerplays

All I am saying is that it is nice to see UMD get some pretty good high school players from our state and that the Gophers in the past USUALLY got the BEST players from the state I know it's a stretch to say that they don't anymore, but it isn't a stretch to say that they are losing more possible re...

hwkfan Much better example. I agree recently its hard to disagree that the sharks aren't the best team in the league as of today but thats for a different board. My point in bringing up the size issue is only that I believe he can survive and really have a nice career. The game is still full of very...

Gopher Blog I'm only saying their recruits aren't just local kids who play crap schedules and really won't amount to anything. We all know that many of players in this state dream of wearing the "M" on their chest someday, but the reality is that not everyone will and that they only have e...

ColdasIce You're probably right that Sandelin won't be around much longer. But super recruits you say? Surely you mean the local kids... Rob Bordson (Duluth Marshall) got increasingly better as the year went Chad Huttel (Hermantown) was surprisingly solid for the Dogs in comparison to what many peop...

pucknutz You say to look at the team in front of Neidermeyer and how they won (win) by force. But look at the role Neidermeyer plays on the team. He is able to do his thing because of all the big guys in front and next to him on the blue line. Neidermeyer is a small bodied, mobile, quick decision ma...

Yes they are pretty much waiting to see how the Great 8, eXposure, and junior tryouts pan out for them

But one change on the list is that Chris Stafne is officially comitted to UMD now and it is no longer a rumor.

Aaron Jamnick from Hibbing.

ColdAsIce-

You started the thread and seem to have an interest in teams around the Northland in the past. So, what do YOU think about these teams?

pistol- You can't say there isn't an argument between A and AA. You'd have to be blind and deaf to not be able to recognize that. It's always the people interested in or connected to A that claim their top teams are better or equal to that of the top AA teams. It's because there are teams such as ST...

Wheeler still can possibly be an NHL'er I highly doubt it but he still is SO raw give him some years in the AHL and who knows...I'd love to see it. But right now it looks like just some wishful thinking... But for others that will play in the NHL from the U may include Stoa (most likely) Fairchild (...

I really like this kid a lot and really hope the best for him and you never know what can happen with a little bit extra work. LeafDevil- Aaron is 17 years old and will have a LONG time to get to those weights and he might get an inch or two. Something else to keep in mind. If you've ever seen Scott Neidermeyer in person there is no way he is 200 lbs. Many of the NHL'ers pad their heights and wieghts like many of the kids i...

DeCenzo has been offered a scholarship to play at Vermont but is sitting on that and waiting for a WCHA offer more than likely Jake Johnson turned down UMD a year or so ago but I don't know about where he'll end up. Probably out east or at an Omaha Nebraska type school. Stafne is being looked at har...

Or Neidermeyer, Rafalski, or Minnesota's own Phil Housley. All are examples of exceptional undersized defensemen.
