Excellent hockey game. Both goalies (Sprang and Gerdes), played very well. Looked like BSM was going to roll early but EP really dug deep and battled hard. EP hit the post with about 6 seconds left. Would be great to see these teams play again.

Warner had 5 or 6 big hits on Tonka players tonight. To my knowledge none were called for penalties. Late in the game Warner hits a Tonka player with what looked like a clean, open ice hit. I think it is cool that a 7th grader is playing varsity as a goalie, regardless of where he is playing. Will be fun to see how we develops over the next few years.

If you watch the replay of the Warner hit on Coatta, it looks like there is a ref directly next to Warner where the hits happens. No call from him. The ref way behind the play made the call. Tonka is the clear favorite coming in, but EP is coming off their best win of the year and a great effort against Wayzata. To win, EP needs to stay of out the box and get great goaltending.

Nuts & Bolts - I'd love to know what you think it is this privileged (as you call them), group of kids have had handed to them that the majority of hockey players don't have?

The problem at this point is the team is having major trouble scoring goals. Beyond the first line there is no-one else scoring. If they can't find a way to get someone other than Spinner, Berg or Knudson to score; it is going to be a tough month.

Also to your point about the bantam game I mentioned. Again I have no problem with any team celebrating a big goal or win. But to skate directly to your opponent's bench and celebrate in front of them is classless, at any age or level!

Check again. There is a video clip of the Russian players skating by the Canadian bench, taunting them after scoring the winning goal. I have no problem with a team celebrating a win, I do have a problem with how some of the Russians taunted the Canadians.
