First, congratulations to the guys on the 8-11 y.o. Machine teams. The kids have earned some bragging rights. As you may know, I am a director of the Blades. Because you asked, here is some information on the Blades performance over the last 12 months. NHL Draft-Seven Blades chosen NCAA Champions U...

I know this a Brad Hewitt Thread, but Bernie puts a ton of effort into these kids. He has organized a bunch of events for these players off the ice sleep overs at the rink [/b], Movies, flying feild trips, lake days, go carting, golfing and on and on. A guy that is in it just for the money does not...

I had always been a strong supporter of the Fire as an alternative for good players from associations either without A teams or with really weak programs. This was before it gotten taken over by the Orange Monster though. Fire can't go to Nationals - end of story - no state championship to play for...

JSR - I have no quarrel either but what you are telling me then is that they are an independent Tier 2 team? I just confused as to why they were list as a Tier 2 independent team a year ago on the same site and now they are listed on the site as a Tier 1 independent team. I was informed that back i...

The one or two years at the Made didn't make these players. They are good from the amount of Hockey they play. The top MN NHL draft choices from last year all came from the North Metro and beyond. No where near the MADE!!!!!! The Made will only turn little John into a cookie cutter Hockey player. :...

HOTG - Then how are Choice kids able to come back into their associations without waiting 12 months? If the Choice (squirt and above) kids play D6, then you got issues coming back (see lawsuit thread). The MN Hockey rule pertains to MN kids leaving the state to play for a non-Tier 1 USA Hockey orga...

Okay MrBoBoma I was waiting for your next comment to be that we need to spread the wealth and take from Bernie and redistribute to D6. Why do you care what Bernie makes? If he is giving the kids 10 extra hours of ice and pocketing an additional $80K by going with cheap jerseys then good for Bernie!...

[ I believe this team is USA hockey registered? I don't think a player can execute a on ice activity without a helmet on? So I would think this is a made up story. MM are not USAH registered teams. I believe TOBL was referring to Wis Fire Teams as being registered with USA Hockey, not Minnesota Mad...

I have spent a ton of time at MM over the last couple of years and I've seen all sorts of Machine and Fire teams practice. The practices that I saw were run efficiently and at a very high level. The kids I see running around down there are all smiling and sweaty. The parents (easy to pick em out be...

I stopped into see the tryouts. The information give about Machine players was not accurate. There where two former Torspo players that tryout, but no current Machine players are skating. Sounds like after getting calls from machine parents/coaches they choose not to. It's too bad. I'm glad you too...

It amazes me too that the few times I go on the forum it's always to respond to an ignorant post and it does always seem to be from HD41 (hoping the 41 is the age and not IQ). When your oldest kid won't be old enough to even be considering the Brick for another 4 years, it hardly gives you much cre...

Please answer the question
If you look at the 95`s and 96`s you see playing now, they are usually the best on the ice and have alot of opportunities because of the developement they recieved when playing for the machine. Alot of parents see this and understand that The Brick is a great tourney but the bigger picture has alot...

1. Don't sell The Brick tournament short. It is very special. One player's father called it one of the best hockey experiences his family has had. This comes from a player who won the State H.S. tournament, won championships with the Gophers and is now in the NHL. This tournament experience really ...

I am a Machine 01 parent. We did have a team meeting and this was one of the topics brought up. We are all onboard with the decision not to participate in the Brick tournament. So now you know if you didn’t already. I will not go into details or reasoning, but I’m sure you can think of some on your...

Once again it is the same six guys saying the same old thing, how much they hate Bernie and Minnesota Made. How bad Minnesota Made is for Minnesota Hockey. The Blades are good and the Machine is bad. If you are new or uninitiated and if you spend anytime read this blog, it will become very clear. I...

Why would any hockey PARENT let this guy tell them what to do??? When I pay for a product I call the shots. Never had any of my five kids skate at MM, I just don't get it. People you are the ones writing the checks. Tell him to get Screwed. OG85 - I don't have a kid that skates on any of his teams,...

Until recently the law of the land in Minnesota Hockey was that parents had the right to choose to sign their child up for any private program they wanted to and have their child participate in association hockey, as long as the child was not registered to play on two MH/USA sanctioned teams at the...

Re: d6 new rule
I can't believe someone needs to get involved in this too! Let parents make their own decisions! Maybe if associations did a better job at training their athletes people wouldn't look for different options. Have the associations that don't like this rule ever asked parents "why" they are ...

If the top 5 kids on a 01' MN Made team go and play in this tournament I don't think they would be kicked off their MM team. Together they have the hammer. I would love to hear from 01 Machine families, but I heard the letter and a parent meeting has already taken place regarding this issue with BM...
