Politics and Perception can be at any level. NAHL is a business. Business's needs Money, this is created by Ticket Sales and Sponsorship. At this level it can be very mischievous.
I think now associations need to Analysis are they thinking they get better results paying these coaches. Most the times I have seen people paying for coaches who have never coached at their particular level. Young guys who played the game but have not had the opportunity to "teach" the ga...
I'm going to Say NO. Have not seen alot of Perry, but he allowed 6 goals against a team that does not have a very potent offense. East has alot more scoring power then Forest Lake. Regardless, Congrats to Andover and East for making it to the Finals. Hard to argue the seedings. #1 vs #2. Always Fun...
The main thing to remember is Officiating is all about one Persons "Judgement". This Judgement, when compared to anothers can differ. (just look at ALL the differnt opinions / judgements on this web site) The game looks very different from the Stands, to the bench to the ice. The game will...
I wish All the Girls the Best of Luck. Enjoy your Season, Have Fun. Seniors Ladies. Your last year of High School hockey. Enjoy it!!!!!
Let the Good Times Begin.
are the tyouts closed or Open to the parents? where you able to see your sons performance against the other competition? Some kids get a little to confident and just assume their going to make a certian team, then it shows in there performance, did he give his all to new evaluators? Is the mistake t...
The question of Posting scores is always questioned. So Much so that somethimes scores even Leak out and causes a stir in associations. the problem is the "Score" in the first place. After a week long tryout is a player who scores (an example) 82 really better then the player who scored 81...
Sorry JSR. thats now the paranoia side of me that has came out of those years (and they were awhile ago) but - in my opinion, you stated it all correct. Thanks for listening.
Not sure what that has to do with it, But they each played 3 years of high school hockey and one played Div 3. They played with a Smile, which is what I like to say.
I can tell you I made the mistake of being a board member for a 3 year term back when my kids were playing. I took all my past experience, playing, coaching, education, what ever I had. I put everything into being a board member and into doing what I felt was right for a youth program. I have to say...
I do not know a whole lot about the DE Program, However, I can imagine it not going over real well with some locals if a SR Tender moves in and takes the spot of Home grown. I believe all names mentioned are better then average goalies. i am sure come November it will be interesting
This will be a good Resource for assisting in educating our coaches, however its not really the coaches that need to be educated. We have all witnessed many programs that have passed up the Correct, More Qualified Coach, due to Youth Sports & Politics. I see so often the seclection committee for...
if a player wishes to play Div 1 College hockey, a High School SR has a better chance of attaining that goal at the NAHL or USHL Level compared to playing another year at the MN high school level. The player has to be mentally and physically ready for such a level, every level a player moves up the ...

Rumor has it is he Moved to Anoka Area, and will look to play in Anoka this year. But - One cannot base facts on a rumor. (Thats just ...
Just curious, But Why would anyone in WBL care if Scott is coaching in Roseville. If he wants A bantams that spot is already taken in WBL. Plus I do not beleive Scott has any kids that play in the Association anymore? Not sure why this would be a concern?
ahhhhh The joys of Youth Hockey. this happens in every program eventually. Good hockey minds, Good with kids, etc. one year there God the next their in the dog house. Parents - hard to do, but relax, its not like there are many choices to choose from. Its alot of time and a big commentment to coach ...
evaluating players is like most things in life, its a matter of one persons opinion. we all have different opinions. These differnt opinions reflect what skills we as evaluators veiw as more important then peers, which will enable a player to succeed at the level being assessed.
Yes these Future camps are money makers for the organization, however, they are very educational for the players as well as the parents. There ussually are players from all over the US in attendance and can be an eye opener for the young players. So attend with the idea that its a Camp and an educat...
I wonder how many of these "Training Centers" are located way up North? I would assume thise kids build skills by just showing up to an Outdoor rink, under no structure, and just having fun.
All players listed are very nice players. also keep in mind this award is based on more then just points produced. School work, Character, etc all play part in the selection process. best of luck to ALL players.
The Ref's have a very difficult job to do. One thing everyone needs to remember is officaiting is 99 % based on the Judgement and perception of the guys with the whistle in there hands. You may think its a penalty, however the guy with the whistle did not. or YES he could have missed it they're all ...
