Re: Coaches
This seems be a forum for questions and comments isn't it? (For hockeyfan21 that is a rhetorical question, no need to answer.) No need to answer maybe, but I will anyway. about the original posted question (not a "statement", since statements do not end in question marks) You used a premi...

Coaches
Again, thanks for another ignorant comment this time from hockeyfan21 about the original posted question (not a "statement", since statements do not end in question marks). To assume I was unhappy with the coach is incorrect and actually the opposite. My kid received more than her fair sha...

What a stupid question your kid must have not gotten enough playing time this year. Live your own life not through your kid. Actually, quite the opposite of what you are assuming. Most people I speak with seem to be displeased with their coaches and was just wondering if it is a pervasive feeling. ...

Does your Coach from last season deserve to come back?
It seems like there are very few parents and players happy with their High School coach. What is the general opinion-should they coach next year?

Blood
What just happened? Clap, clap, clap, clap, clap. What just happened? We sat behind the Sioux bench yesterday and was surprised at how little emotion ND played with. There was little to no energy from the players. I do have to compliment Hakstol at the end of the game. He pulled Blood over to the b...

How many games is the suspension for, 1 or the whole tourney
Interestingly I almost didn't start this post because I figured it might end up heading down a path such as this. Overall that game had little to no controversy, the refs did a good job, the parents were good sports and the players played well. Some of the top Pee Wees in the state (Stillwater #8 i...

All 7 County Metro Private School AA
If trying to stick to the main point of the thread by making reasoned, focused arguments is going nuts, then yes, I am flying over the cuckoo's nest for sure. A couple of points: 1. I am a Hibbing fan, not a Hermantown fan. Hermantown is the epitome of what Class A hockey is about, and I admire the...

Its not the same. I can see one team getting better because they play every game against better competition but its a stretch to say every team ( MAML, Buffalo etc. ) got better because they play St. Cloud 2 times a year. So the justification is that one team playing every game against tougher comp...

Doesn't Surprise Me!
Typical Maple Grove kid..... I saw the same behavior from the OMG kids earlier in the season at the EP Tournament. Unbelievably bad behavior after the game in which they tied; parents were not any better. It sounds like the feather doesn't fall too far from the nest. Coaches must also be commending...

PeeWee A Region Break Down
Here is a breakdown of the PWA regions by ranking and Power rating (as of 2/22). Looks like the toughest region will be East, South, North then West. East Region Rank Rating Teams 1 18.89 Lakeville South 21 14.42 Crow River 8 16.82 Stillwater 11 15.64 Wayzata Blue 3 18.24 Osseo Maple Grove 15 15.07 ...

Lakeville used to have that issue
The solution is an ice draft like EP does. Teams might still not user their ice but it is billed to a team. LHA had a 30k bill for unused ice before the draft was instituted. It solves many issues; everyone has to take good and bad times and it allows coaches and managers to work around the teams sc...

Hermantown PWA
Our team has played four of the top 10 teams and Hermantown is probably the best all-around team of any of them. 1. Lakeville South 2. Prior Lake 3. Eden Prairie 4. Elk River 5. Hermantown 6. Osseo/Maple Grove 7. Stillwater 8. Edina 9. Minnetonka 10. Bloomington Jefferson I like the rankings with th...

Hermantown PWA
Hermantown will give the top rated teams in PWA a run for their money! Two big lines with very good speed and hockey smarts. They move the puck very well.

Knucklehead-sounds like you are jealous
Were any of the 14U Maroon teams made up of 14 year olds? Summer hockey is played at the level where the players will find themselves in the fall. 14U means 14 and under for the winter season. That will include before July 1 12 year olds, all 13 year olds and after July 1 14 year olds. So, many gir...

Enjoyed the Dialogue, but this one was the best!
Copperclutterbuck, this is a good one! "Research was done with all the associations and significant review before deciiding on the date to start the season. Much thought went into that. The kids will not be behind. Just because we started earlier last year does not mean kids were the ice 24/7.&...

LV N vs LV S
These two teams will be very close to each other. If they combine and form one A team they will be one of the top teams in the state. The other D8 teams like Eagan will be good wiht a couple of very good players and a good goalie. Woodbury should be strong because of their numbers. Hasting will also...

Hockeymom87-this is a great forum and thanks for the response, but I do get the point. It is totally appropriate for District 6 to pass this rule-but it won't hold up unless people are trying to sign up their kid with another MN Hockey Affiliate which MM is not, and as I used in my example, is the p...

D6 ruling
My guess is that most of the people who oppose the D6 ruling are parents with first time kids in Mites or Squirts. D6 is just saying pick one or the other. If a kid is enrolled in both an Assoc. and MM, they will be skating "8 days a week", parents don't get it. There will no doubt be sche...

I forgot about ER and Blaine and you can throw in Hastings too. It really comes down to the big associations. The ones with approx 60 girls or so and have only one A team will shine. It becomes a numbers game with depth. Each team usually has one or two really nice players and then its a matter of h...

Wayzata Edina Centennial WBL Lakeville North or South Chaska/Chanhassen Eagan Stillwater Maple Grove Minnetonka EP All these teams have very good top end players which can effect the outcome of a game. At this age goal tending is really important too. I would be willing to bet the state champ is one...

Top Individual Tournaments
MN Selects I believe is the original of the "top" players. There are a number of copy cats: Mid-West Selects, Super Series, Preview Cup to name a few. The teams are only as good as the coaches connections. Most are filled with the core of the same kids and who can make it or wants to pay t...
