Re: Games Friday 1-14-22
Wondering what Gardner and Shaugabey are doing on the ice with 8 minutes left of a 13-0 game. With a11-0 lead after 2 it would seem the proper thing to do would be to ask them to take their gear off and rest for today while developing others.

Re: Mike Randolph
Tough times for sure. I would add though that even the most ardent supporters would agree that program was in the decline before he left. I would also add that most hockey people familiar with the current talent would say it’s not real good.

Re: If Minnesota Had an Olympic Team
As a Bulldog fan I maybe add Mikey Anderson who has been on the LA #1 d pairing for over a year. Then Neil Pionk who I put ahead of most d on that list. Other than that list looks solid.

Re: The Hermantown Thread
Last post on this subject. Unless you have direct knowledge of Pat Andrews soliciting players outside his program, you really should not make such comments. My assumption, and I’m pretty confident In it is that you don’t. I’m just telling what my experience was first hand. If someone has direct know...

Re: The Hermantown Thread
Ok Dog, I took the bait. First, a parent of a player from outside Hermantown approaches me because I may know someone in Hermantown program. Just how is that recruiting? Neither the coaches nor I solicited this.. I know plant and andrews only as acquaintances, by no means as friends. I am far remove...

Love that perspective Rail. It’s here and gone before you know it and at the end of the day it’s just a game and everyone moves on.

Be interesting to know how many kids at East, Denfeld an othe surrounding schools, other than Hermantown moved school districts after they were born.

Re: The Hermantown Thread
Again. Knowing Aamodts and sambergs their decision had little to do with hockey. The logistics and perhaps personal preference is the reason they ended up in hermantown. Any local people know you basically drive right by hermantiwn schools to go to proctor. There are many open enrollees at hermantow...

Re: The Hermantown Thread
They lived in pike lake and twig. Never set foot in a school in proctor. Never skated in proctor arena other than with a Hermantown jersey on. They have both been life long members of the Hermantown community. If you know there story, samberg dad never played hockey and Aamodt never played beyond jv...

Samberg and Aamodt never went to school or played anywhere but Hermantown. They are as much Hermantown as anyone.

Re: The Hermantown Thread
While I continue to agree they should be AA and have expressed that many times to powers to be , I also feel some comments are not fair. A vast majority of the players going back 15 years who have played or will pay D1 hockey have gone to school and played hockey in their program pretty much from th...

Re: Games Saturday Dec 4
Top 5 in A? That’s going out on a limb ha? What has EGF done that makes you think that game would be close?
On a different note, not that familiar with this group but feel like most, if not all of the key players are from there and developed there for a change. That being said. Move up to AA.

Re: Teams Making a Jump to Relevance
If I had all the right answers I would interject that I don’t pay homage to a high school with no youth feeder program using kids developed elsewhere to add to build a 4A trophy case. Hermantown gets a few kids and are chastised. Point is they should move up. But it’s neither of our calls just like ...

Sounds like you may need to use them to prop your “your, I have all the right answers on how hockey should be played” attitude up.

Re: 2022 UMHSEL Thread
I’ve never seen Max Plante play. Agree 100% that the league is not what it was previously. But the fact is he is second on his team of 17 skaters in points. Are not all the other kids playing in this shinny league playing under the same conditions he is?

Re: Mike Randolph
Point being when your hanging on to break a record, it’s not “about the kids” as he seems to always want to try and point out. He clearly has left his mark and done some very good things. His current actions give the appearance it’s now all about him.

So it’s not just all about the kids? I’d have had more respect for him if he’d have chosen to walk off into the sunset.

Re: Mike Randolph
While I do not consider myself pro or anti Mike Randolph, isn’t it time to be done? Seems very odd that a 60 something year old person would disrupt his life to be an assistant in a town 2 1/2 hours away. The hockey world will survive without you.

Proctor-Hermantown Mirage
These two communities have long been combatants. Sometimes within the realm of good sportsmanship. Sometimes not so much. In the end, some good people on both sides and think it’s great the two communities can come together to enjoy and share the accomplishments of the Mirage hockey championship.

Re: Tournament on tv
There was some banter in the “seedlings” topic that proctor/Hermantown had played nobody and did not deserve a top 3 seed. If you win all the games on your schedule you’ve done all you can. They clearly proved to be at the level of the 1 & 2 seeds and clearly better than the 4 seed. As was agree...
