Re: Section Venues
Whoa! I'll cop to being the dumbest guy I know, but I'd never have guessed the cost would be $100. On the other hand, that reinforces my thought that the MSHSL is run by public school administrators who have no experience with market discipline. Think about it, $100K to hold the class A consolation...

Re: MNHockeyTV quality: Is it worth it?
I use MN HockeyTV for this time of the year only. I pay the 1 month and cancel before renewal. I think it’s worth it. Currently watching Edina/Wayzata. 1-1 2nd intermission.

Section Venues
With 6AA moving to Ridder this year, are we closer to 2AA/6AA back at Mariucci on a Wednesday night? It was the best set up and way better than Braemer or BIG. Ridder is not the answer either. Heard BIG is doing a remodel and effectively flipping from "1" to "3" as the main rink,...

Re: Biggest Section Upsets
Zach Halverson tweeted something to the effect that Chan over Tonka is one of the biggest section upsets ever. While I disagree that it was that big (an upset for sure, but Chan was objectively one of the top-5 teams throughout the year), got me to thinking about those upsets. Here's some off the t...

Re: Section Tournament Ticketing Systems
I like the old ticketing system where you used cash. I agree. I used to pick up tickets the day before and catch two games at Braemar and 1 at BIG or vice versa. I have a feeling I will be shut out this year and the same for the finals. I wish they would move the finals back to Mariucci. The 2AA/6A...

Look for Rogers next year and the year after. Hoping they can take MG and give new blood in St. Paul in March.

Re: Coach Lechner
Lechner is a good coach who every year gets some of the best players in the East Metro. Cretin, St. Thomas, and now Lucias Academy are skimming players for the glory of starry eyed parents. Don’t put this guy on a pedestal. He doesn’t walk on water. I’m sure most east metro coaches wish they had to...

Re: State Tourney Short Stories
These are great reports! Enjoyed reading them all. You must be on the Forum editorial staff! :D The only thing I might disagree with is your description of the A 3rd. place game being a "beatdown" unless you are referring to the SOG difference. I was at the game (as well as the A champion...

State Tourney Short Stories
Long time follower, first time poster. I do some short game writes up on the tourney games, thought I would share some. Orono advances in OT past Northfield This was a fun game. The Spartans were the deeper team but Northfield did enough to hang around and their goaltending was legit being outshot 5...
