This late in the summer will the new coach be from the broader community, rather than the school district?Green and White Fan wrote: ↑Tue Aug 24, 2021 10:42 am Moorhead will be a top 10 team for years to come. I do think Roseau has a chance to give them a test again this year, but time will tell. We need a coach hired first!

Re: 2021-22 Coaching Openings
Any buzz on the Roseau front? Seems odd and a little concerning that there have been crickets so far. Still posted on Roseau's web site, along with a part-time activities director. May make it easier to put a package together. As a teacher in the district, Roseau could assign Lundbohm to the positi...

I am a one class kind of guy but even I have to admit it's time for a 3rd class Recruiting is only going to get worse...Families are cutting deals in AAA hockey. Coaches are so smug today they don't even hide or deny the fact that they are recruiting. Parents are shopping their kids constantly and ...

Re: 2021-22 Coaching Openings
Probably a good time in the East timeline for Mike to step down. He and the Hounds have had a nearly 3 decade long run of being one of the top teams in the State. It will be interesting to see where the program goes under a new regime. Every one of us is replaceable. Mike did a great job, and left ...

Any chance Aus surfaces in Roseau? The Brainerd Dispatch makes it sound like he wants to keep coaching.

Heard the parents were behind this one and were trying to run him out of town.

Re: 2021-22 Coaching Openings
How much does compensation weigh in to these departures? Yes, I know some are performance based issues and others are tired of the stress and placating everybody. But when you look at other states, and their h.s. premier sports, coaches are compensated 10-30 times what the standard rate is in Minnes...

Moorhead Connections
With GA and EP winning last night, Joe Cullen and Jackson Blake both achieved state titles, something their fathers fell short of. Could that lift the hex that appears to have been on the Spuds program?

Re: New Section alignments for a three class state play-off
OK, then why not have just one class for all other sports like basketball, football, baseball, swimming & diving etc? fair question. What is the justification for having 5 or 6 classes in HS Boys football? You are right. The direct comparison with other sports fails. If hockey want to keep up, ...

Thank you for sharing this with the board E70. Dick was a good man with a heart for hockey. Never in it for himself, he worked behind the scenes of many projects that will benefit youth for generations to come.

I hope I am wrong on this, but I do not see how the pause ends on 12/18. Nor do I. I expect another case surge after Thanksgiving with deaths surging (again) just before Christmas. It looks bleak. Do you mind divulging your source? At least what industry/agency he/she works in? Will ice arenas be shut down? It would have to go to another level for ice arenas to be shut down; but the trend is not positive. I believe we could see rinks shuttered from Thanksgiving through January if we don't fl...

Yes,they are a low risk group. Sadly, when they leave the rink they interact with many who are not in a low risk group, parents, grandparents, neighbors, etc. Many of the populations have tried to slow the spread by wearing a mask and social distancing, but we've had others disregard any type of sc...
