Warroad

This has the makeings of a great game but I don't think we will see it happen. Look for Warroad to jump out fast and keep comeing. 6-2 Warroad

I hope you really don't feel that way Spartan, Warroad is good but Orono isn't bad either, Warroad won't worry much in this game but they won't get running time either.

The "Amazing Kreskin Glasses" have got me focused in on this one. I just have a gut hunch (yes, I know it's a big one) that the Warriors may let this one slip through their fingers. They seem to be gripping the sticks a little too tight (frankly, would like to see those Harrows stuffed in the trash and get them back to wood, some look like they have no feel right now around the net...<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/mad.gif ALT=">:"> ) and are playing not to lose, instead of jumping on the opposition right away as of late. They rope-a-doped in the LOW game to start with and had a big second period and then ran out of gas at the end of the third. I've called it a minor upset in the upset thread but for some reason they just seem ripe for it. Come on boy's, prove me wrong and come out flying like you can, if you do there's no stopping these guys......<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... smokin.gif ALT=":smokin">

RAMS I think you are the first to post that War road never played their best game against LOW. From a phone conversation I had with a Friend up north he thought their defense did'nt play as well as they have grown accustom to. WARROAD 4--3 O.T. (Just hearsay guess)

Let's reflect on the state class A semi-final game these 2 teams played in 2003. Warroad won 5-2. They scored 2 goals in the 1st 47 seconds when Orono's coaching staff being sentimental put an all senior lineup out which featured several defenseman who had not previously played in the tournament. I won't mention who the wings were. This was never a game although Orono put a good fight in the 2nd period. Orono is a better coached and better prepared team this year. Unfortunately Warroad is also just as good if not better(Hardwick did not play last year) This adds up to my calculations Warroad 5 or6 Orono 3 or 4.

This game will be a good game for about 2 periods then it's over. Warroad's offense will walk all over this team. I predict 7-1. Warroad out shooting Orono by double.

Should Be A Good One...

Post by longlaker »

I have had the pleasure to see both of these teams play this year and they are both excellent! I saw Warroad let an early-season game slip through their fingers against Edina. It seemed as if they felt that they were supposed to lose that one, or they were tired out by the travel and excitement of it all. Also, I thought their D had amazing offensive talent, but seemed sloppy on the defensive fundamentals (break outs and holding their zone). That game should have been Warroads, in my opinion. Nevertheless, a great club with one of the best players in Oshie.

Orono has a shot in this game for sure, especially if they come out to play right away. They are WAY better coached this year, have had an extra year to gel together and 2 years of tourney experience. They have won some big games this year (Totino, I Falls, Lourdes) but need to win a huge one, and this would be a huge program builder. Their first line of Dynan, Ylitalo and Smith are really as good as any. All they need to do is believe in it and execute to their style.

It should be a dandy. I wish both teams well and an extra special good luck to the Spartans!

Orono 5 - Warroad 3

Warroad

Post by Warroadice »

Wow I love seeing this, instead of Warroad being the hands down winner they are being picked against. Ok guys they let LOW back in the game, the dump and chase gave LOW the chance to regroup and come back, don't expect to see that from Warroad again. Orono is a good team but they dont have the speed of LOW and in the end that is what gave Warroad problems. After the practice these boys have been going through in the last couple days at the arena expect to see them jump off fast and end strong. Those who except Orono to catch Warroad napping get ready for a small lesson. Warroad will take to school these boys from Orono, 6-2 Warriors from the start

Is one of the Warriors asst coaches really named Oshie?
How did that happen? Distant relative or just inbreeding? If this means recruiting(gasp!) I am so naive I believed all the Henry Bouche Legend. I might change my allegiance to Breck at least tjey are up front about it. This has really ruined my day if it is true. Must be a nasty rumour.

Oshie

Post by Warroadice »

big horn we all have been over this subject to death on here already, read and catch up! Oshies dad is related to Henry, not sure how, I heard Herny is TJ great uncle and then I heard is was only a cousin, don't know, however we ALL know TJ has alot of family in Warroad and this is where he belongs. Don't start looking to start things that have been covered to no end, fact is he has family here for years, ever one knew someday he would be in Warroad to play hockey since Washington don't have highschool hockey and since his grandfather and Henry(uncle or cousin) played here,At anyrate good luck to my brother and the Warriors as they go for back to back!!!!!!

Tim Oshie and Henry Boudhie are cousins.
Tim is TJ's father.
TJ and Henry are first cousin's once removed.
TJ calls Henry 'Uncle Henry'.

Tim is also a nephew to Gary Sargent.
Sargent played in Bemidji but is originally from Warroad.

Tim does scouting and stats and helps on the ice with Cary Eades. That is NOT his job.

No one can name any actually 'recruited players' in Warroad.
At least not at this time.

Interesting parallel

Post by metromick »

Interesting that both Warroad and Cent had one-goal section final games. I think this is a scare at the right time for both - the best teams in each class. Should help focus for 1st round games in the tourney.

Warroad repeats.

There are 851 males in Warroad, by the way. To have the star player's Dad as an assistant coach in a town that size is hardly worth calling out the Warren Commission to investigate conspiracy.

Good night, Ralph. Should have picked up on the sarcasm. Read about a sign, the asterisk *, as a point of punctuation to denote sarcasm.

Would come in handy so overreacting boneheads don't go citing the number of men in a small town to make a point.

what?!

Post by hockeyfan17 »

hey i just read this entire post and i dunno what you guys were commenting on earlier. obviously warroad didn't play what they are capable of they were pretty close though but LOW could have played a little better too... everyone can always get better. that wasnt a upset though rams1981... everyone knew that game was going to be close cuz they both are very skilled, hardworking teams. just cant face that LOW is good? REALITY CHECK!...
