from what i saw, Roseau is just a better team, what a great rivalry though

Agreed. Nice to be able to see some of the stuff behind the play as well. Not at all saying Warroad was going to win, but some little things make a difference and Roseau definitely benifited from a few missed calls. Ness is a phenom and will have a bright future, but I'm wondering how many more phantom assists he's gotten. He needs no help padding the point total. Just because Roseau scores when he's out there doesn't mean he set it up. Not a big deal though, just an observation. One other missed call that might have made a difference was a check from behind in the second. Should have been at the minimum a boarding call but went unnoticed. My belief is the Rams are beatable, but will take an outstanding effort. I'm sure they played down to their competition a bit, but personally, I was more impressed with the way Edina played in the 4 times I've seen them.gh12345 wrote:Tivo sure is a beautiful thing. I just replayed some of the action where Roseau was breaking the puck into the zone. There have been 3 instances, one of which resulted in a Roseau goal, where they were blatently offsides and the officials didn't blow the play dead.
Apparently the cameras did not give you a good view of the locker room, because there's no wall running down the middle! There are four or five cement pillars but no wall!hockeyxprt1 wrote:Loved the Roseau locker room complete with dividing wall down the middle. Both of his assists last night were absolutely legit. What game were you watching? I have the game on DVR and both assists were as clear as day.GR3343 wrote: Ness is a phenom and will have a bright future, but I'm wondering how many more phantom assists he's gotten.

The first goal (where he got the second assist), he took the outlet pass at center from Lee and made the quick cross ice pass that led to the 2 on 1 goal. The second goal is even more obvious since he put the pass right to the goal mouth tap in.[/quot
You might want to watch the first goal a little closer, he passed it to George, then George passed it to Cole and then back to George, now unless they give 3 assists he didn't get one!!! Phantom
Kinna funny how "nice" this locker room is if you have a chance to see it in person........hockeyxprt1 wrote:Loved the Roseau locker room complete with dividing wall down the middle. Great city, tons of tradition, crappy locker room. kinna funny.

Wow, are you that ignorant on how assists are given out? It doesn't matter if there was a couple of passes between the same two players after Ness made the pass. Look into the rules.NeilGuf-yb wrote:You might want to watch the first goal a little closer, he passed it to George, then George passed it to Cole and then back to George, now unless they give 3 assists he didn't get one!!! Only "dividing wall" in there is concrete and every inch of those locker rooms smell like they're producing champions down there. Kind of funny how great the varsity locker room is after earned a stall in it. How many rinks are in your neck of the woods with seven championship banners hanging of the ceiling?hockeyxprt1 wrote:Loved the Roseau locker room complete with dividing wall down the middle. I honestly didn't know that either... I could have swore it was by the last players to touch the puck.Gopher Blog wrote:Wow, are you that ignorant on how assists are given out? That is correct. If a defenseman makes an outlet pass from his zone leading to a two on one.... and the puck gets passed back and forth by the the two players on the two on one a few times, the defenseman still gets an assist. Can't Never Tried wrote:I honestly didn't know that either... So if player "A" makes a pass from the defensive zone to player "B" who takes it in the opponents zone deep, and then plays keep away with player "C" for three or four passes without the opponent touching it, and then "C" scores "A" still gets the assist??
I would bet many assist are not given in this case as at times it could be hard to keep track of...never to old to learn something...right elliott?Gopher Blog wrote:That is correct. Can't Never Tried wrote:I honestly didn't know that either... The assist rule is pretty vague and up to interpretation, so everyone could be right here. Can't Never Tried wrote:I honestly didn't know that either... Nothing about unique here. And nothing about order of puck movement, just that the play involves the player(s) taking part in the play. Unless there's something different in a MN high school hockey handbook somewhere, I'd say it's pretty much up to ref's opinion on the play on handing out assists.j. When a player scores a goal, an "assist" shall be credited to the player or players taking part in the play immediately preceding the goal, but no more than two assists can be given on any goal. Each "assist" shall count one point in the player's record.
Wow, you guys take things pretty seriously!! Must have been a bad cameral angle. Sorry to have commited such sacrilege.61ache wrote:Only "dividing wall" in there is concrete and every inch of those locker rooms smell like they're producing champions down there. So with that said, you could have all 6 players on the ice touching the puck in a manner that starts an up ice rush resulting in a goal, therefore having 5 assists? And an interesting perspective on some wacky assist calls:

A sad day to see Warroad fans terming themselves as a Class A team. Certainly not the proud tradition of years past!Undercover Hockey Lover wrote:For gavin, no real payback for YOUR nightmares....elliott70 no double digits; for watchdog you need to watch closer even Ram Hockey and AY were heavy and CornBread..only in your dreams...it was an @ss kicking none the less but no more than other A squad has taken. Not complaining, just asking a simple question. Did you notice I said, "I know this is an excessive example"? Lighten up, Ness is God. You guys happy?Gopher Blog wrote:LOL, that is what I was thinking.slashman42 wrote:Nope - you missed the word "Two".GR3343 wrote:So with that said, you could have all 6 players on the ice touching the puck in a manner that starts an up ice rush resulting in a goal, therefore having 5 assists? I find it funny that somebody complains how assists have been dealt out over many decades.
