The East All-Stars defeated the West All-Stars by the score of 8-7 tonight in Atlanta, Georgia. Eric Staal from the Carolina Hurricanes was named MVP with two goals and an assist. Marian Gaborik of the Minnesota Wild scored one goal for the West All-Stars which, at the time, gave the West the lead by the score of 7-6.
After the first period the East led the West by the score of 5-1, but in the second period San Jose Sharks goaltender Evgeni Nabokov was able to hold the East scoreless as the West brought the game within reach by popping in two cutting the East's lead to 5-3. The West then fought back and tied the game at 5-5 with two goals in the first 1:56 of the third period before the East regained the lead on a goal by Marian Hossa. The West regained the lead for themselves with a goal each from Dian Phaneuf and Gaborik. Staal and Marc Savard then put in the final tallies, including the winning goal with just 21 seconds remaining in regulation, giving the East the victory in what actually ended up being a fairly entertaining NHL All-Star game.
Thoughts on this years All-Star game or All-Star games in general?

The game was a lot of fun to watch. I really enjoyed the mic'd up goalies. A few of us went down to a restaurant and watched it on a extremely large screen TV. Very entertaining, just what we were looking for.
