i'd say hibbing and virginia are the top 2 in the section... Jamnick and Westin give these two teams an added dimension in that they can take over games. But Ifalls and Marshall are not to far behind come march i think this will be a four way race. Mausolf is back for marshall on monday so we will see what effect he brings to the team.

Hibbing has been so close for so many years now. They've always fallen just short. I think if Hibbing's gonna go this will be the year. Past years I've questioned it cause Marshall and Hermantown were so good. I think this is the year the Jackets get back to the X.

Jackets state bound ? Yes they have a shot, won't be easy though, can't count the Falls out.The team that makes it out of sec 7 will have earned it. May the best team represent the north and crush the south!

I think this finally Hibbing's year. They've beeb so close and I've never been able to be totally confident they could win because Hermantown and Marshall have been so good.

Toss up:

Hibbing - Have beaten the three teams below, but haven't been playing very good as of late.
Duluth Marshall - Have only had a couple of bad outings, but one of them was against Hibbing.
Virginia - Split w/ IFalls, have been consistent.
International Falls - Lost to Greenway and most recently Virginia. But are coming off a victory against Ely. :o

Hibbing's last 5 games:
4-1 loss at Albert Lea
1-0 win at Cloquet
4-2 win over Virginia
5-4 win at Denfeld in OT :?
5-1 loss at Grand Rapids

But one thing you have to remember is DeCenzo has these guys playing there best hockey at the end of the year. They always find a way to get to the big game but have never pulled through. I think this is the year.

If they do end up getting to the show, will hibbing be able to contend with everyone else there?

I definately think they could contend. Now I'm not saying state championship but in past years they've said they couldn't contend and I remember they beat Cathedral 6-1, barely losing to Orono and then beat S St. Paul in a battle for 3rd place. There's no doubt they can compeat.

Do you have some sort of inside information? Do you play for Marshall? Who is your source? This would be fantastic if it was true.

I thought Mausolf was done for sure. Kid was having way too many issues. You must either play or be a student there. I'll believe it when I see it.

Hibbing is the favorite out of IRC [7A], Mausolf returning won't help Marshall,The only team that might get in the way of the Jackets going to the X , [Devils] The playoffs will be spectacular!

There should be some good semifinal games in this section as well as a good final. Some good looking teams. I think whoever goes could compete and make things interesting and maybe pull out some wins. You never know.

Hibbing will have a good shot and same with the blue devils, but you shouldn't count out marshall, anything can happen and they could get hot. When they lost to hibbing Paul got kicked out same with Mausolf, and Mausolf will help marshall, he is a threat on the ice. They beat St. Thomas so you never know what could happen, i say these three teams are very close.

hibbing will NOT make it! even if they do they would probably lose, the section is WEAK this year, i think marshall has the best chance to do something at state because they play so many tought teams!
