AA #1-2 seeds

Post by HSHockeyPurist »

So in every decided section in AA, the 1-2 seeds are facing each other in the finals. Anyone got a problem with that? Or do you prefer it that way?

Kind of ironic given the crazy regular season we had. Should make for great section final games. I personally wouldn't bet against any of the #1's in their section games, so who knows maybe all 8 of them will make it to the X

4AA is still yet to be decided. Semifinal games are tomorrow at the coliseum. I like the 1 and 2 seeds to advance in those games as well though.

In all my years covering/watching HSH, I've never seen every 1 and 2 seed advance (if Hill and WBL advance, and I'm certain they will). It's only happened twice in section 1AA going as far back to 1999, let alone every section in one year. There were only three 1vs2 matchups last season. Kudos to the coaches for getting things right for a change. I think it's safe to say that in almost every section (excluding 1AA and to a lesser extent 4AA) that no matter who prevails we are in for one heck of a state tournament.

Has it ever happened that all 8 #1 seeds made it? I don't believe so.

The Spuds were a two seed in 8AA this year, so far 2 for 3. I think the only other two seed to have a chance is G-Rock in 7AA.
