What is the story with EP? I was told this afternoon, the Head Coach was fired after their 1st round playoff game. Any truth to this?

That is not what I had heard. It sounds more like a few days away from the team. I would imagine the program is focusing on finding a way to beat Edina, and we may or may not get more details after the season.

Why isn't Eden Prairie on the list? Have they found a new head coach?
Most of the Eden Prairie Girls & Parents are tired of the current Coach being protected by the EP Athletic Director. It seems like every year the Coach gets caught & is only verbally reprimanded by the Assistant AD for using inappropriate language around the girls & for being a Bully toward the girls. Two Parent Coaches Assistants walked out of the Locker Room between periods of the first home section playoff game & told the Assistant AD to go in and witness a bleeping laced tirade directed at the girls. He was then suspended but they are calling it a personal leave of absences due to health reasons. If he keeps his job by whinning his way back in he will have to get new parent coaches for next season.
Since this topic seemed like a better place for this conversation.

Like in most places I hope these parents/players are having helpful conversations with the school and coaching staff and not just blasting them in public forum, and worst of all without their name attached. It's pretty easy to run someone down, when know one knows who you are.

All MGHCA coaches received an E-mail today from Tim Morris saying he is stepping down from coaching EP.

Would the asst. coach, Gino Peluso, be a candidate? His daughter is on the team, so i don't know if that would disqualify him.

Whoever it is that gets named, there will be big expectations, and along with that comes lots of pressure to win. EP is ranked at or near No. 1 in just about any sport you choose, no matter the season, boys or girls. This obviously is a function of both school size and demographics, and not coincidentally EP is at or near the top in both.

This opening is a great opportunity for the right person, but success or failure will be measured not just in win/loss records, but in State Tourney appearances and Championships.

PCG hired a parent coach, so who knows. Anyone have any insight on people who applied? Have interviews started? This is one of the high profile spots I am surprised is still open. You think it would be a quick hire.

There are a lot of successful parent coaches at the high school level. IMO that should not be an issue, especially since the EP AD Mike Grant was also a parent coach. My daughter played for the Orange Crush, and Gino Peluso was her favorite coach -- taught her more about the game than she learned from her HS coach, great with the girls, and a coach who really knows and loves the game. EP's loss if he applied and they don't hire him.

How about letting all the dads coach that played HS/college hockey in EP who will have daughters on the team. We could have moms run practice when the dads cant be there. This way, nobody has to be paid and the taxpayers win!! Yey!!
