Absent minded? You still haven't made a legit reason as to why Warroad should be in class AA other than they are successful. Success has nothing to do what class they should be in.

Roseau makes you guys look like sallies, that's more than a good enough reason right there...Flin Flon wrote:Absent minded? You still haven't made a legit reason as to why Warroad should be in class AA other than they are successful. Success has nothing to do what class they should be in.
Carful there E70. The bantam A's in Bemidji are doing well and are very talented but the peewee A's aren't so hot.elliott70 wrote:It is not the size of your school district or community...schwang17 wrote:Roseau sure doesn't use that as an excuse...Flin Flon wrote:Maybe not but they have larger enrollments than Warroad.
they have little to do with it....
It is the size and quality of your youth hockey program.
Warroad will struggle (based on current players) come future HS years.
EGF, TRF, Crookston and Bemidji will be at the top.
Roseau will continue to compete well with Moorhead, Brainerd, Buffalso, St Cloud (the double A schools).
If the Bemidji Bantam A's are good because of the 8th graders and the PeeWee A's are led by 6th and 5th graders than all the 7th grade had to produce in the next four years is on D man and a checking line. Therefore, a not so hot PeeWee A team now could have no effect on the high school team later.State Champ 97 wrote:Carful there E70. curious to hear why you think crookston will beat them at pr on the 5th of feb?TTpuckster wrote:Back to the topic of this tread, I mean thread.
PR will lose 2 games this year.
Both at home.
One on January 24th and one on Feb 5th.
Hate to say it, cause I think it's cool when a team goes undefeated, but those are the facts.
I've read five pages of this crap now Shwag....Warroad was NOT nicknamed "Hockeytown USA" because of the HS program. It was actually coined in the late fifties, early 60's when The Lakers were winning both American and Canadian Titles and sending guys to National & Olympic teams. You probably didn't know this but The Lakers BEAT the 1960 US Gold Medal Team prior to Squaw Valley. As well as sending 2 Lakers to Squaw Valley..maybe you heard of them Bill & Roger Christian. Now as I said "Hockeytown USA" has absolutely nothing to do with the HS program, got it? It may be a somewhat outdated nickname but it is still registered. Thus ends your hockey history lesson for the day.schwang17 wrote:To reiterate my point: It's real simple, if you claim to be "Hockeytown USA" and you're playing in the Single Class tourney you are not worthy of that title, IMO...
Roseau makes Warroad look really bad...
I did not know that history....quite interesting...ALTHOUGH many people think that it is because of the HS program....I know that when a NEW hockeytown USA was labeled (dont remember where)..the Warroad community was offended......why is that?...do most Warroad natives not know the history of their communities crown as "hockey town usa'?Undercover Hockey Lover wrote:I've read almost five pages of this crap now Shwag....Warroad was NOT nicknamed "Hockeytown USA" because of the HS program. And for my dig of the day for you...Roseau may make Warroad look bad but they'd make your team look a heck of a lot worse!!!
I am pretty sure that The Mayor back then; a guy by the name of Morrie Taylor actually came up with the nickname and had it registered; how you do it I don't know but that is the story. I believe it is still registered THAT is why the town folk are uptight about it. Remember Detroit is NOT "Hockeytown USA" but just plain "Hockeytown" watch closely the next time you see Detroit at home. I think so....wasnt there a town in minnesota that was like taking it away from Warroad?...maybe I just heard wrong...thats why I was confused...ill do some research and get back to ya....Undercover Hockey Lover wrote:I am pretty sure that The Mayor back then; a guy by the name of Morrie Taylor actually came up with the nickname and had it registered; how you do it I don't know but that is the story. I think it would be tough to say their best athletes play basketball when their hockey team has been way better than their basketball team the last 5 yrs or sodefense wrote:I have to throw a wrinkle in: Park Rapid's high school may have a weak schedule and all that, but, in youth hockey, they have to play pretty much the whole district right??????no that top to bottom 15 is awesome, but, Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls, Little Falls, Moorhead, Alexandria, Brainerd, they probably play each twice( I could be wrong on this) but this is how most youth programs go.......#'s , coaching, ice time, schedule....and....how about popularity, maybe in Park Rapids hockey is not a huge sport, therefore the best athletes may play a different sport...ie basketball.
Wadena has gone nowhere, I don' t even think they have a JV this year, but they did improve their schedule and possibly the popularity by that great year, again 1 year with other stronger years surrounding it, a good run of players and now they have to build again....sounds familiar right????
SB24 wrote:blah blah blah...man this "bored" is getting "boaring." All this talk about a team that beats a bunch of squirt b teams, loses McMorrow and Knapp and some other kid next year and will go back to fighting the toilet bowl. Who cares if they go undefeated before sections? Hope they do, but really, does it matter?
LATELY it seems players stay loyal in PR...both lehrke's could have left..an didnt...and I hope Mcmorrow doesnt either...but I dont know what he will do....ya never know i guess....SB24 wrote:yeah, never said anything about knowing everything about PR but anyway. Why would McMorrow stay? Maybe Warroad could find his folks a job and he could play for a real team
Yes they play a District 15 schedule but they play it at the "B" Level so they don't play the best talent in the district.defense wrote:I have to throw a wrinkle in: Park Rapid's high school may have a weak schedule and all that, but, in youth hockey, they have to play pretty much the whole district right??????no that top to bottom 15 is awesome, but, Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls, Little Falls, Moorhead, Alexandria, Brainerd, they probably play each twice( I could be wrong on this) but this is how most youth programs go.......#'s , coaching, ice time, schedule....and....how about popularity, maybe in Park Rapids hockey is not a huge sport, therefore the best athletes may play a different sport...ie basketball.

I cant imagine any player really transferring out of a program anymore. The MSHSL does checks to see why the parents have moved and what the main factors are. If they see the parents now working at Marvin's there is no way they will ok that situation. Not to mention, I dont think the kids are really into sitting out a full year and losing a chacne at being noticed. Just figured I would add that little tid bit...SiouxRecruit wrote:LATELY it seems players stay loyal in PR...both lehrke's could have left..an didnt...and I hope Mcmorrow doesnt either...but I dont know what he will do....ya never know i guess....SB24 wrote:yeah, never said anything about knowing everything about PR but anyway. So what is the reasoning for not opting up to play w/ the big boys? I mean really? Your cousins wearing green seem to have no troubles...such a historic rivalry, but the Black and Gold won't even play on their levelUndercover Hockey Lover wrote:And for my dig of the day for you...Roseau may make Warroad look bad but they'd make your team look a heck of a lot worse!!!
