Now.... for all involved, I think ending a game in a tie is also stupid. I just like to "stir the pot". Sorry guys. If you look at my last posts, you will see that. tude-e-lou.....

You can't compare the super bowl to a bantam district playoff game. Personally, I love the rule...Edina won it fair and square. It's Apple Valley's fault they lost...I assume you are a player on the AV squad because you are constantly whining about the loss.foshodangles wrote:imagine the super bowl this year being tied 17 to 17 at end of regulation and they go into overtime and no one scores then the NFL says "the super bowl goes to New England because they were the better team in the regular season". Could you imagine how angry people would be?
I am an ex player and an my kid used to play for burnsville years ago. So you are wrong to say that I am an Edina fan of any kind. I am simply a fan of the rule. If AV were a higher seed than they would have loved the rule and possibly won the game and mabye on their way to regions. Edina just worked harder the whole season Av just worked hard for about 10 minutes in the entire playoffs. I watched the AV chaska game. Av was lucky to win. They were sloppy and didn't seem to be into the game at all. The goaltending is what saved them in that game.snipa75 wrote:Da Bossman, you probably only like the rule because your an Edina player or parent. How can you say its Apple Valley's fault that they lost, when they didn't even lose the game?
The only reason regular season games are started this way every time is becuase BTA is the only one with a resurface after 2 periods. Otherwise they would go out on the ice just like tournaments and playoffs.peskycardinal wrote:I have an idea. How about D6 spends a few extra pennies and buys enough ice time to finish their games. That goes with starting all the games on new ice and resurfacing after two periods as they do during all their Bantam A regular season games. D10 plays 17 minute periods and has an 8 minute warm-up.
However, high seed wins has come into play in the past even in a semi-final game. This isn't so bad on the winners side of the bracket but to have your season end on the losers side of the bracket because of high seed is a little tough.
What is the point with resurfacing after the 3rd period? What's the diff there?peskycardinal wrote:What's your point? I realize that Bantam A games are the only games that resurface after two periods. Why would you do this all season only to change the format come playoff time? What the other levels do has no bearing on what the Bantam A level does. So again, what's your point?
hows it av's fault?they didnt lose, they tiedDa_BossMan wrote:You can't compare the super bowl to a bantam district playoff game. Personally, I love the rule...Edina won it fair and square. Duh? There is cost involved with that. Paying for more ice, paying the officials more and so on. It does not give a team an advantage so who cares. They are bantams after all. They are not that tough on the ice.peskycardinal wrote:The point is, start the game on new ice not crappy ice!!!!!!!!!! Resurface after the 2nd period not after the 1st period. This gives you new ice for the 1st period and the 3rd period. Which makes more sense than only having new ice for the 2nd period. DUH !!!!!!!
