This Sunday morning the teams from Sections 3 and 6 (both 16's and 17's) will be scrimmaging each other at Eagan. Any other sections having scrimmages before the Festivals?

Interesting to note info put up on Minnesota Hockey today. Besides the rosters I noticed the Phase III weekend schedules. It looks like the U16 vs. U16 on Saturday and then U16 vs. U17 on Sunday - those will be interesting

is anyone else in 17s group having a conflict with the ACT. The national test date is on April 12th which is the first day of Phase II.

The Junior Festival is scheduled to end on June 13 - hopefully this is correct as this date will HAVE to work! With the conflict next weekend this will be the second time we've had to postpone taking the ACT due to hockey (the last one being an early afternoon Section game).

Very True, but let the girls who want to try to pursue one of their hockey dreams, try. There are different times in the year to take the ACT, even tho this year has been a challenge with the dates.

Yes and my kid transfered so she could get a better education not for sports

Last year several players took the ACT and missed a session and still made it to Lake Placid. Are the powers at be actually going to enforce a rule this year regarding missing a session? I personally think they could have scheduled sessions around the ACT.

Agree, next year's (2008-2009) dates are posted already so it could certainly be avoided by the organizers:

That and I noticed several kids that got through with only showing up to one session in P1, so I can't imagine they would hold you to that rule in P2.

Education is quite a bit more important I'd say.

Any thoughts on how the weather is going to impact Phase II on Friday and Saturday? Hard to believe for the second time in April this nasty, crazy weather.

Guessing some of the non-metro girls are not going to be able to get there for Friday night's games. Will see what the weather does.

Weather does look very bad travel safe when you can!

Great hockey at Plymouth though I only caught the early games - neat having boys and girls at the same venue. On the girls side Section 4 beat section 2 6-4 (Brausen and Salomen had 2 goals each Tuuri and Doyle 1 goal for Section 4 - Buie, Williams (2) and Ramsy all scored for Section 2) at the '92 U16 level and 3-2 at the '91 U17 level.

Did anyone else see or catch any other games.

This year on penalties they awarded a penalty shot which I thought was great - we had 2 penalty shot goals in the '92 game and the winner in the '91 game was a penalty shot.

Both Section 4 goalies Rolando and Sobczek played very well.

U17's

Section 6 5 (EN)

I didn't think the game was as close as the score.

Sat am games for adv 17 -

* Section 1 beat section 7 by a 3-2 score in a Shootout.

* Section 5 beat section 8 3-0.

In U16 '92 Girls

2 PM Game - Section 4 won 7-1 over Section 3 (they beat Section 6 on Friday night 6-5) they will play for championship against winner of section 5 and section 1 who play at 8 PM tonight. Another big day for Brausen (RSVL) 3 or 4 goals, also Marcotte (WB), Doyle (HM), Anderson (NSP). Sobczek (STW) and Rolando (Tartan) again strong in goal (stopped +8 penalty shots). Mason (EGN) got lone goal late in game on penalty shot.

In U17 '91 Girls

12:30 PM Game - Section 3 won in OT 4-3. Lundberg (Thoroughbreds) scored with less than two minutes to tie and Frankenberger (CG) scored winner in OT.

Great event. Lots of good hockey to watch. Crowds were good, and parking was nuts. MN Hockey must have done very, very well, income-wise. Also, I've never seen so many evaluators and scouts in one place in my entire life.

Section 1 '91 girls (17's) beat section 7 Friday, but were out-gunned their next 2 games. Girls to move on could include F Jenna Christensen (Albert Lea), D Katie Frischman (Thoroughbreds) and G Michelle Bonapace-Potvin (Roch JM/Lourdes). One or a few others may get a look, we'll just have to wait, I guess. Good job by all section 1 girls hanging in there with some talented opponents.

Girls U16 '92

3rd place game - Section 1 beat Section 3 in the 3rd place game 5-3 (open netter).

Championship Game - Section 4 beat Section 5 3-1. Dalbec scored lone Section 5 goal on Penalty Shot. For Section 4 Chartrand (NSP) scored the game winner on a tip in from Pendleton (HM) and a Penalty Shot & Philipcek (STW) also scored on a Penalty Shot. Goalies for both section 5 Chloe Billideau (Blake) and Brown (Irondale) and Section 4 Rolando (Tartan) and Sobczek (STW). Both teams played well on both ends so the shot totals were down with the tight defensive coverage and hustle on both sides.

The only other 17's game I saw was the 7th place game; Section 8 beat Section 2, I believe the score was 3-1.
