I think Carlos Gomez is going to have a pretty good year (or Denard Span). Whichever guy they put out there will do well.

Provided that baserunners coming home from third go halfway up the first baseline on their way to the plate...

I see the Twins already optioned Alexi down to AAA. A bit of a surprise that it came this early?

Once they signed Brendon Harris, Alexi's opportunity became very limited.
Punto will provibe defensive replacemnet and back up at 2b and 3b and Casilla cant do that.
He has great speed but little else to offer at the MLB level.
Whi in Boof is gonna lead off?

Have they changed the rules to allow a player to steal first base?

With Hunter and Johan now gone the Twins are completely off the national radar. All discussion about the Central revolves around CLE and DET and DET and CLE.
The national media sure loves its stars. Bad Viking teams with Moss still had a couple Monday and Sunday nights a year. I hope Green Bay is prepared for several years of Noon starts on Sunday.
After the Twins opener, I doubt they'll appear again for a National audience.
Hit the Boofin ball and things will be fine.

Thats what it was. Now they know just what to do.
They need to do it better than they have been or its gonna be a long season.

I think the hitting will be fine this year, between Mauer, Morneau and Young they've got some very talented young bats. Monroe and Mike Lamb will likely do better at the plate than the guys they had last year. They will miss Luis Castillo's leadoff skills though, Gomez sounds like he's very, very rough so from what I've read I'd prefer to see Span start in center.
The starting pitching is a mess though. Who knows what we'll get from Liriano, I do like Hernandez but he's going to give up a lot of homers and runs to the AL hitters and what else is there? Bonser and Baker are still unproven and it sounds like Blackburn might get the fifth spot. Hate to say it packerboy, but they need to lure Radke out of retirement! Just put a bionic arm on the guy and all's well.
And it seems like I read that Casilla had gotten in Gardenhire's doghouse for some of his play in the field, that probably led to his quick exit as much as anything.

packerboy's opening day lineup:
1.Spahn CF

3. Young LF
4. Morneau 1b
5. Cuddyer RF
6. Monroe DH
7. Lamb 3b
8. Harris 2b
9 Everett SS
SP Livan Hernandez
Quite a few changes but it should be for the better over all. I doubt they will be releasing guys that they signed as free agents in May like the last couple of years.
Starting rotation is as big a ? as its been in a while.
