My comment was in regard to 7AA (and section 7 before the split), and since 1945, it has been represented by a non-northern team once (Elk River, 1999). Otherwise, the only teams to have won it are East, Greenway, Cloquet, Rapids, I-Falls, Hibbing, and Eveleth. I can't say for sure if East has been in it the entire time. I'd call that a northern section, but maybe I'm not understanding the point you're trying to make.
If you think that East is the only cake-eater school in Section 7AA, then you don't know much about the logistics and politicking of Section 7, in general.
Also, I became a bigger supporter of Sarlsand and Elk River after the Elks dumped Hibbing for the 7AA title in '99, when he said that even he thought that Elk River did not belong in Section 7.
East was in Section 2 with Cloquet for a while in the 70s, 80s and 90s. I wish they still were.

Yeah somehow I doubt you'll return the favor though.. Rapids fans tend to dislike East... just a little

I think Dickie is "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" mode.
I'm pretty sure he's not a "fan".

If GR comes out and plays the way they did against FLake and Rendle and Kosak are close to 100% (which sounds like the case) they should win. Any of the 4 teams in 7AA has a chance and will represent well at state. I just hope it's not Anoka. I'll take Rapids 3-1. I can't go against my Indians.
See you at the DECC for a great day of hockey!

Well it is kind of hard to be 100% when your ACL is torn, that is the case with Mr. Kosak. So I doubt you can expect much from the young man as it is tough to play hockey on essentially one leg. If they can use him on PP....great! Team will rely on young Merritt to play solid. Do not know status of Rendle but anything less than 100% could prove challenging for a depleted D-Corp. 4-3 OT T-Hawks.
