I think they are the truest.

1. Wayzata Trojans A 6-1-2 16.98
2. Duluth East A 4-1-0 16.29
3. Lakeville South A 7-0-1 16.20
4. Osseo Maple Grove A 6-2-1 16.05
5. Woodbury Royals A 1-0-1 15.42
6. Rogers Royals A 8-0-2 15.35
7. Eagan Wildcats A 11-3-1 14.67
8. Bemidji Lumberjacks A 2-0-0 14.64
9. Roseville Raiders A 7-1-1 14.52
10. Minnetonka Skippers A 3-2-2 14.34
11. Apple Valley Eagles A 7-2-1 14.31
12. Edina Hornets A 7-5-1 14.28
13. Rochester (1) Red A 3-3-0 14.22
14. White Bear Lake Bears A7-8-3 14.18
15. Grand Rapids 2-0-2 13.87
16. Centennial Cougars A 7-8-4 13.69
17. Chaska Hawks A 7-4-1 13.66
18. Blaine Bengals A 6-2-0 13.46
19. Burnsville Blaze A 10-4-1 13.27
20. Elk River Elks A 3-2-2 13.22
We have this conversation every year, yes this is another way to look at the rankings, however this does not take all things into consideration, there is more than just the numbers to consider when making evaluations of teams. Is Woodbury really the 5th best team in the state. No! What about tonka who has lost 3 players to HS, Centennial has played the entire season without two returners who are injured. Elk River lost 5 guys to HS. How can you doubt Head to Head match ups. The numbers have Rochester over Centennial But the Cougars jut beat them 4-2 last week, but Rochester is better? Does this take into account a back up goalie who played a game, and won't see the ice when it really counts? Look at that same website at 2007 Rankings. The Number one team in the state was EP and they Won.... however number 2 was not Centennial who once again proved to be 2nd best with a state runner up, shutting out two teams that were ahead of them in the rankings on their way to the championship game. Plus this only takes into consideration the games that are input into the computer. Do you think East has only played 5 games. Not a chance! there are more than numbers.... but they are fun to look at.

They have Bemidji at #8, okay maybe, but more like 12 or 14 or 18, right now.
At year end or later in the year they maybe a top 5 team, but they have a lot of learning to do.

I'll take Chuck's rankings - maybe some bias but not much that I can see.
And I would rahter have a person that puts a little more into it than a person that builds a model for giving a number to a team.

And if we all agreed about who should be where, then what would we have to talk about.

CB00 likes the rankings because he is a Rogers guy. The BCS rankings were when you play nobody it still makes you look good.

Rogers has a good team. I'm not sure if they are top 10 but I think they are definately top 20.

Fire and Ice, do you like apples? Rogers 4 Wayzata 2 Eden Prairie Tourney How about those apples? By the way, I'm not from Rogers.

I still think this ranking is non-bias which makes it more accurate. Not exact.

I love apples. CNF Rankings are still the official and your Royals were sitting #7 when the week started and might get higher. They have now played 2 teams top ten.

Makes for good story lines.

Where's Jefferson?

Bloomington Jefferson is really competitive this year. They beat Woodbury at the Burnsville Tournament 2-1, and competed with almost all of the top 10 teams. And Mpls Park? Really?

Rogers has two good lines. Not sure if they are a top team, since their third line doesn't touch the ice after warm ups.

Snack on that for lunch....

Hit Rogers 4 or 5 kids that dont leave the ice and you will win. Guarantee it.

Everyone has Maple Grove, Wayzata, and Tonka at number one at the beginning of the year, Rogers beat all of them how could they not crack the top 10? Even if their 3rd line doesnt skate much they smoke teams with 2 lines. And i would like to see that guarantee.

How did you know?
And I don't really know how their Bantam A team is. My cousinfs play for them and their teams are very bad, plus Mpls Park kinda has a history of mediocrity.

I am not really sure how to start this. There is no clear cut Number one team around. Everyone is beatable at any given moment. So this is what I got. Good luck making any sense of it all.

1. East - Didn't loose this weekend, thanks for the help!
2. Wayzata - loss to rogers or Not still Number 2 on my list
3. Rogers- I know they did not win the tourney, but could be great
4. Rochester - Great tourney! Saw a wonderful PP all weekend.
5. Maple Grove / Osseo -
6. Lakeville South -
7. WBL -
8. Apple Valley - Did well down south
9. Edina - took this weekend off
10. Eagan - was done on Sat, but did beat Rogers
11. Centennial - tied Chaska?? got roughed up by MGO
12. EP - Better weekend for these guys
13. Roseau - Got spanked in game one then played better
14. Minnetonka- Still played strong with new team
15. Jefferson, Played well and got back on top 20 list
16. Burnsville -
17. Minneapolis Park -
18. Stillwater
19. Chaska - Can't give them credit for Tie against Centennial, Cougars are bad
20. Roseville -

Very good CNF but can i ask how Mpls/Park didnt move up at all after they beat Rochester and played very close to lakeville south and were a post in the last second away from tieing WBL

Being close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

Playing a top 20 team close counts for little. You have to win. Last I checked, a post in the final seconds is the same as a post at any other time in the game --- they don't mean anything to those who rank the teams.

In checking out Minneapolis Park's results at MNHockeyrankings.com, they are a mixed bag. A few wins/ties against top 20 teams, but a loss to North Metro and a tie with Hopkins?

I did get to see part of their win over Rochester over the weekend and they looked like they belonged out there.

They need to knock off three or four more top 20 teams and not give up the 'must win' games to convince me they belong with the big boys.

I get what your saying conditioning the loss to NM aqnd the tie with hopkins they were missing kids but your right they can't give away easy wins like that. they play WBL again tomorrow to try to make up for the loss in EP should be another good one

From what I have seen this year, I would say that is just about perfect.
One exception, Edina, should be down with Chaska and Burnsville.
But those rankings are all about the math, and Edina has played a pretty tough schedule so far.

thoughts on tartan? I watched them play and I would think they should be in the top 20....
