IMHO, this a side affect due to a thinner Ontario class this year, so more recruits from Minnesota and out West. Not knocking Minnesota hockey here, just stating what others have noticed as well.
Recruit Numbers over the last 6 years show Minny and Ontario always clear top two sources.
2005-2006 On...37, Minny...29, Total...211
2006-2007 On...29, Minny...40, Total...201
2007-2008 On...37, Minny...29, Total...166
2008-2009 On...38, Minny...37, Total...213
2009-2010 On...52, Minny...32, Total...211
2010-2011 On...57, Minny...39, Total...209
Last time Minny had more D1 recruits than Ontario was in 06-07, that is five classes in the past. There is also a noticable smaller class size four years ago (166 vs 200+ ). Wondering if we will see a repeat of that cycle this year?.
My prediction is Ontario will end up with about 30 this year, Minnesota 45-50.

At UNH it seems that you might well play anywhere. Never hurts to be able to play up as well as back, and vice versa

I don't think there will too many new 2011-2012 girls committing anymore since most schools have an application deadline that has already passed but I think there are a lot of girls that are committed that aren't listed anywhere. I've been told that the Canadian girls generally are reluctant to announce since they don't want to be seen as bragging and I think there are others out there that just haven't made it public for whatever reason.

On edge - I think your are correct....It's been a great year for the senior group! They have been a very strong class for a long time..

Its not that I think its impossible for more Minnesota girls to announce their D1 commitments. As a matter of fact I think there will be a few more that will announce D1 commitments. I'm sure that there are a few Minnesota girls that are keeping their commitment quiet and a few that have already applied to potential schools but haven't worked out the details of joining a team yet. I was just pointing out that the flow of commitments is becoming a trickle since most schools have deadlines for applications for admission that have already past (especially at schools out East).
