Disagreement with your unsubstantiated speculation does not constitute "belligerence", sir. [-X
If you want to see belligerence, look no further than the post just prior to this one.
Further, if your actions are so easily influenced by others, you may be demonstrating some weakness of character. :?:
LOL..... keep digging

Also consider that part of the Big Ten's interest in creating a hockey conference is tied to the Big Ten Network. College hockey is an ideal Friday night programmer for a network that has little to sell advertisers on Friday nights.

"That obviously adds many possibilities for exposure for the sport, and revenues," Maturi said. "So that will be part of the equation, as well."
Seems to end that argument right now, no?

Gee, you are right. What were we thinking. I mean a guy who ascended to the position of Athletic Director of a major university, in the conference we are talking about, with direct knowledge and facts on all of the things we've been debating clearly has no knowledge or information pertinent to this discussion because he hired a guy as footbal coach who didn't pan out as planned, because everyother AD in the country has a perfect hiring record for head coaches in all sports..... MY dad always told me you can't fight stupid because you will lose every time, your wisdom has never faile dad. Thanks..... I'm done........

And, you are implying that Maturi made a mistake. All AD's make occasional mistakes. Absolutely right!!! But you are sure-fired positive he didn't make a mistake on his revenue prediction for a BTHL?
And you question other folks' intelligence? How odd.

Forgetting the whole discussion about if revenue will work out or not, you sure seemed adament that the BTHC wasn't going to happen either way, correct? If Maturi (and the other AD's including Tim Curley plus Jim Delany) think that revenue will be generated, you have to at least admit at this point that, at minimum, creation of the BTHC is a virtual lock, no? Because I'd hate to be them when the President/Board/Regents/etc. come calling and they say, "so, you had this deal that you thought would make us more money, in a time where we keep getting destroyed at the legislative funding level, and you said, 'no thanks?'" Good luck with that theory...

Virtual lock? No. Not yet.
And once again, where is your proof of "more money?"
Maturi "thought" Brewster would be an excellent choice to lead the Gopher football program to new heights, as well. Less than two years into a shiny new stadium, he now struggles to fill it.
Basing decisions on what AD's "think" is also by no means a "lock".........ever.

Holy crap are you really this dense, or did you fail reading comprehension? I don't need proof of "more money" when it comes to this point since, you know, we're talking about what Maturi thinks, and since he said he thinks more revenue can be generated by Big 10 hockey on the Big 10 Network (or did you skip the bolded part of the article above?).

Okay, maybe one AD, but there are now quotes from Maturi, Curley and Alvarez all saying they think the same thing (not to mention Lucia, Gwozdecki and McLeod). Are you really telling me that you know more than they do?

And thumping your chest about a completely unrelated bad coaching decision (Brewster) is childish at best.

So we ARE talking about pure speculation.
Of course.
Congrats.
That, and a quarter, might get you a cup of coffee.
Again.........zero proof of any additional revenue to be had.
Or, did you have something of substance to share that you had been hiding all this time? :-#

Nope, try again. "Pure speculation" would be the media pontificating on what Maturi (or Curley or Alvarez) think. It's a fact that he believes it himself.

LOL. And you think I have comprehension issues.
I don't care what he believes. It's still pure speculation.
Here you go:

be·lief   /bɪˈlif/ Show Spelled
[bih-leef] Show IPA

–noun
1.something believed; an opinion or conviction: a belief that the earth is flat.
2.confidence in the truth or existence of something not immediately susceptible to rigorous proof: a statement unworthy of belief.

I saw that. I'm sure wayoutwest still believes a BTHC will not happen.... LOL

Also add this one:
http://noalibisnoregrets.blogspot.com/2 ... onday.html

Where wayoutwest will find this interesting nugget:

At this point it makes no sense to complain about the negatives about the Big Ten Hockey Conference because it's going to happen. There are multiple positives for the Wisconsin hockey program when it comes to the new conference. The most obvious being a television agreement with the Big10 Network which will generate more money for the program and will expose the program to more recruits. The TV deal will also be a selling point for recruits who's parents may not be able to make every trip to see them.

Do the words "I told you so" mean anything?

Wonder if Illinois and Indiana will opt up from the ACHA division 1. Doubt it, but you never know.

I've actually read some articles (will try and find them) since PSU made the announcement that when the BTHC came to fruition that Illinois and Indiana would both likely start trying to attract donors and work toward fielding D1 teams before 2020

Yep, it's happening.
However, I am not the stupid one.
I am sure you have taken a look at what is going on in the NCAA Tournament.
Sure, it makes perfect sense to move out of the best conference in hockey, and take on the highly competitive BIG 10.

By the way, do you truly not know how to spell "damn?" Stupid? Yep.
